The present disclosure relates to an elevator having a function of removing dust adhered to an object aboard, including: a car which provides a boarding space, and in which a pair of air holes disposed in a diagonal direction each other at a same height of an inner space are formed; and a pair of fan modules that generates whirlwind rotating in the inner space of the car by ejecting air traveling from one of the pair of air hoes in a direction away from a center of the inner space of the car and ejecting air traveling from the other of the pair of air hoes in a direction away from the center of the inner space of the car, in which dust adhered to the object aboard inside the car is separated from the object aboard by the whirlwind generated inside the car.

A reflective optical encoder () assembly includes a motor and brake assembly at least partially in a motor and brake housing (). An encoder housing is at least partially received in a cavity () of the motor and brake housing. The reflective optical encoder includes an encoder disk () and an encoder shaft () that rotate with a shaft of the motor. The assembly includes holes () in the encoder disk. A seal () at an interface between the encoder housing and the encoder shaft to prevent contaminants from the cavity from entering the encoder housing and a packing inside the encoder housing. A packing () is situated to prevent any dust or debris associated with the encoder shaft rotating relative to the seal from getting on the encoder disk.

An elevator door coupler includes a vane member adapted to be supported on one of a hoistway door or an elevator car door. A magnetic coupler device () is adapted to be supported on the other of the hoistway door or the elevator car door to be selectively magnetically coupled with the vane member. The magnetic coupler device includes a plurality of modules () each having a core and at least one coil associated with the core. An insulation material () occupies a space between the modules for substantially insulating adjacent coils from each other and for maintaining a desired alignment of the modules relative to each other.
