The present teachings relate to an organic electroluminescent transistor with improved light-emission characteristics. More specifically, the present organic electroluminescent transistor has an emissive ambipolar channel including at least one layer of an n-type semiconductor material, at least one layer of a p-type semiconductor material, and at least one layer of an emissive material arranged between the layers of the p-type and n-type semiconductor materials, where the multilayer emissive ambipolar channel includes, among various layers, a layer of a p-type semiconductor material comprising a benzothieno-benzothiophene compound, and/or a layer of an emissive material comprising a blend material that includes an organic carbazole derivative as the host matrix compound and an iridium complex as the guest emitter.

Organic electroluminescent transistor

Disclosed are new compounds having semiconducting properties. Such compounds can be processed in solution-phase at a temperature of less than about 50&#xb0; C. into thin film semiconductors that exhibit high carrier mobility and/or good current modulation characteristics.

Disclosed are new semiconductor materials prepared from thienocoronene-imide-based small molecule and/or polymeric compounds. Such compounds can exhibit high carrier mobility and/or good current modulation characteristics. Thienocoronene-imide semiconducting compounds and polymers

The present teachings provide silole-based polymers that can be used as p-type semiconductors. More specifically, the present teachings provide polymers that include a repeating unit of Formula I: wherein R, R, R, R, RR, Z, x, and x' are as defined herein. The present teachings also provide methods of preparing these polymers, and relate to various compositions, composites, and devices that incorporate these polymers.
