A method, performed by a wireless device, is disclosed. The method is for managing radio resources in the wireless device and comprises receiving a message configuring a radio bearer for use by the wireless device, checking the message for a ciphering configuration setting enabling or disabling ciphering for the radio bearer, and performing at least one of enabling or disabling ciphering for the radio bearer in accordance with the received message. Also disclosed are a method performed by a base station for configuring radio resources for use by a wireless device, a wireless device, a user equipment and a base station.

Configuring radio resources

A method is provided to operate a CN node to determine UP security activation. A UP session establishment request is obtained for a wireless device. An indication is obtained that the UP session establishment request is associated with an emergency session and/or that null ciphering and/or null integrity protection are applied to a CP associated with a CP session for the wireless device. It is determined that a UP should be configured for the UP session without activating integrity and/or confidentiality protection for the UP based on the indication. A UP security policy is provided to a RAN node associated with the wireless device, wherein the UP security policy indicates to configure the UP for the UP session without activating integrity and/or confidentiality protection based on determining that a UP should be configured for the UP session without activating integrity and/or confidentiality protection.

Methods providing management of emergency sessions and related devices and nodes

A wireless deviceand a method performed therein for receiving scheduled positioning system information from a radio network node. The wireless device and the radio network node operate in a wireless communications network. The wireless device receives, from the radio network node, positioning system information scheduling information (pSI) and at least one out of a scheduling offset and a number of system information messages with positioning system information blocks (pSIMs) per system information (SI) window. Further, the wireless device determines in which subframes one or more pSIMs are scheduled by the radio network node based on the pSI and based on at least one out of the scheduling offset and the number of pSIMs per SI window. Furthermore, the wireless device uses the determined scheduling of the one or more pSIMs for receiving the one or more pSIMs.

Radio network node, a wireless device and methods therein for scheduling positioning system information block (SIB)

According to some embodiments, a method of signaling device capabilities for use in a wireless device comprises compiling frequency band combinations supported by the wireless device. The method further comprises compiling a set of device capabilities supported by the wireless device and assembling a capability message. The capability message includes: the frequency band combinations; combinations of the device capabilities supported by the wireless device; and for each of the one or more frequency band combinations, the capability message includes a first indication of one or more device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination. The first indication of the device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination comprises, for each band of the plurality of frequency bands, an indication of one of the one or more combinations of the device capabilities supported by the band when used in combination with the other bands in the frequency band combination.

UE baseband capability signaling

A wireless device () is configured for use in a wireless communication system (). The wireless device () is configured to determine a wake-up signal, WUS, group (-) to which the wireless device () belongs, based on a third function (f) of a device identifier (A) for the wireless device (). The third function (f) is different than a first function (f) of the device identifier (A) based on which a paging frame () of the wireless device () is determined and/or is different than a second function (f) of the device identifier (A) based on which a paging narrowband or carrier () of the wireless device () is determined. The wireless device () is also configured to monitor for a WUS () that indicates wireless devices in the determined WUS group (-) to which the wireless device () belongs are to wake up.

Wake-up signalling in a wireless communication system

A method of adapting radio resources based on physical conditions in a device for wireless communication is disclosed. The method comprises determining radio conditions, mapping the radio conditions to a metric, reporting the radio conditions to a handler of radio resources, and using the reported radio conditions and their mappings to the metric by the handler for radio resource operations. Method of adapting radio resources, device and computer program

A wireless device that indicates multiple power classes to a network node, a network node that uses the indicated multiple power classes, and related methods of operation for the wireless device and the network node are disclosed. The disclosed embodiments aim at an increase flexibility in setting different power classes in different communication scenarios while reducing signalling overhead for capability signalling for the wireless device. This is achieved by using at least one set of power classes defining at least two power classes of the wireless device. Each set of power classes applies to a transmission band (A, B, C) supported by the wireless device and each power class in each set of power classes applies to a specific operative condition of the wireless device.

A UE transmits a radio access capability to a base station. The radio access capability is transmitted via an information element that comprises a bitmap in which a bit has a value that indicates, to the base station, support of a modification to at least one of a maximum power reduction or a spectrum emission requirement. According to embodiments, the base station manages the UE based on the supported modification. Such managing of the UE may include, for example, one or more of admission control, imposing scheduling restrictions, and imposing handover restrictions.

Release-independent modifications of network parameters

A method performed by a wireless communication device for monitoring for a paging message from a core network node in a wireless communications network. The wireless communication device monitors () for the paging message at one or more paging occasions during a time period for monitoring paging. The start of the time period is based on an instant of time when the wireless communication device registers to the core network node.

According to certain embodiments there is disclosed herein a method for authorizing utilization of enhanced coverage. The method comprises receiving a first message indicating that a first wireless device supports one or more enhanced coverage features. The method additionally includes obtaining an identification of the first wireless device. The method further includes obtaining, based on the identification of the first wireless device, an indication of whether the first wireless device is authorized to access the one or more enhanced coverage features or the first wireless device is not authorized to access the one or more enhanced coverage features.
