A system and method of Random-Access Response, RAR, messaging when a base station employs narrow beamforming. Multiple RAR messages are successively transmitted from the base station to a User Equipment, UE, before any response to a RAR message is received from the UE. Thus, despite any calibration mismatch between Uplink, UL, and Downlink, DL, beams in the beamformed system, a RAR message is not only received by the UE, but is received over the most-suitable DL beam for that UE. Each RAR message may contain a message-specific scheduling-delay indicator in the UL grant carried in the RAR message to provide an adjustable time delay for the UE's uplink transmission scheduled by the UL grant. Multiple RAR transmissions can schedule a single UL transmission at a specific time instance or different UL transmissions at different time intervals. The UE may report to the base station the best DL RAR transmission detected by the UE.

Random-access response with analog beamforming

A method performed by a wireless device for determining Channel State Information, CSI, estimates to be transmitted in a CSI report for at least one CSI process configured for the wireless device to a network node in a radio communications network is provided. The wireless device receives a message comprising an indication to discard existing CSI estimates and/or an indication to use CSI estimates corresponding to a determined period of time. In response to said message, the wireless device determines CSI estimates to be used in the CSI report to the network node according to the received indication. A wireless device is also described. Furthermore, a network node and method therein for controlling CSI estimates transmitted by one or more wireless devices in CSI reports of at least one CSI process configured for the one or more wireless devices to the network node in a radio communications network are provided.

The invention relates to an integrated antenna node () for use in wireless communication in a communication system (), the wireless communication involving uplink and downlink physical-layer processing. The integrated antenna node () is adapted to perform, for at least one set of corresponding uplink and downlink physical-layer processing functions, only the uplink physical-layer processing functions or the corresponding downlink physical-layer processing functions. A method for requesting a connection setup of a connection between a terminal () and a node () of a radio access network () is described. The radio access network () supports a first access and a second access of the terminal () to the radio access network () for the connection. The method is executed by the terminal (). The method comprises determining () whether to at least partially accept a network defined condition of the radio access network () associated with the first access, selecting (), from the first access and the second access, the first access based on a result of the step () of determining, and requesting (), from the node (), the selected first access for the connection. The method may enable an improved management of a quality of service by the radio access network in association with a connection between a terminal and the radio access network.

A relatively high voltage is developed across a buzzer by placing a resistance in the discharge path of an buzzer, e.g., by shunting one or more Zener diodes or LEDs across a switching transistor, the switching transistor being connected in series with the buzzer between a voltage potential and ground. Alternatively, the buzzer is shunted with a resistive element, with or without series connected a reversed biased diode. The result is a higher audio output without a corresponding increase in power consumption.

An inverter circuit (10) for driving an electroluminescent lamp (14) reduces humming noise by discharging the electroluminescent lamp (14) through a resistor circuit (32). A charging circuit (36 or 38) charges the electroluminescent lamp (14) to a first voltage level during a charge cycle. The electroluminescent lamp (14) is subsequently discharged to a second voltage level through the resistor circuit (32), which prolongs the transition from the first voltage level to the second voltage level, thereby reducing the humming noise components of the inverter circuit (10).

A method for adaptively allocating channels for connections between base station and mobiles is disclosed. The channels accessible to the base stations for establishing connections with mobiles are ranked in at least one priority list based on transmission loss intervals. Each channel is ranked in the priority list according to their success at previous connections. The amount of power required for a channel allocated from a list associated with a low transmission loss can be set lower thereby reducing the interference associated with the channel and increasing system capacity. A self planned system evolves where channels are allocated for connections based on their past connection history. Thus, the selection of channels which may interfere with calls in neighboring cells or which may suffer substantial interference from a neighboring base is avoided.
