The present invention refers to a method for producing a low-emitting plasticised polyvinylchloride composition, having a fusion time of less than 5.50 s and a volatility of less than 10% weight loss, by mixing pentaerythritol tetravalerate with a polyvinylchloride composition, the fusion time being measured according to DIN 54 802 and ISO/DIS 4574 and the volatility being measured according to ISO 176 Method A. In a further aspect the present invention refers to a thermoplastic article suitable for use in environments where the article is exposed to heat, wherein the thermoplastic article is based on a plasticized polyvinylchloride composition produced by the method of the present invention.

Non-phthalic plasticiser

The present invention refers to a process for hydrogenation of caprolactone and/or its oligomers or polymers to 1,6-hexanediol. The process is performed in liquid phase at a pressure between 100 and 350 bar and is performed in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of at least one catalyst comprising Cu, Mn, Al, Cr, Zn, Ba and/or Zr.

Production of 1,6-hexanediol

A method of treating hair comprising the step of applying to the hair a composition comprising a hydrophobically functionalized polyhydric dendritic macromolecule built up from polyester or polyether units or mixtures thereof. The method has been found to be useful in providing hair that is well aligned.

Hair care compositions comprising a dendritic polymer

An air drying waterborne resin composition is disclosed. Said resin composition comprises at least one amphiphlic air drying dendritic polymer, at least one non-amphiphilic air drying alkyd resin, at least one drier initiating and/or promoting autoxidation, and water, and optionally at least one anionic and/or nonionic surfactant, and/or at least one coalescent agent. Said at least one amphiphilic air drying dendritic polymer is built up from a polyhydric dendritic core polymer having terminal hydroxyl groups and at least one unsaturated carboxylic acid and at least one adduct, obtainable by addition of a monoalkylated polyethylene glycol to a dicarboxylic acid or anhydride and/or a diisocyanate, each bonded to at least one terminal hydroxyl group in said polyhydric dendritic core polymer.

Air drying waterborne resin composition

A process for manufacture of a dendritic polyether comprising a core, derived from a compound having two or more hydroxyl groups, and at least one branching generation being built up from at least one hydroxyoxetane having one oxetane group and at least one hydroxyl group is disclosed. The process comprises ring opening addition to said core and ring opening polymerization of said hydroxyoxetane. A mixture of the core compound and at least one cationic initiator is prepared and said hydroxyoxetane is fed to said mixture at a rate resulting in and/or maintaining a reaction temperature below onset at thermal degradation and in an amount resulting in at least one branching generation. The initiator is present in an amount of 0.1&#x2013;0.5% by weight calculated on said core and said oxetane, preferably in an amount giving a ratio hydroxyl groups to initiator of between 1:0.01 and 1:0.05. Yielded dendritic polyether is sebsequently neutralised by addition of at least one alkaline compound and optionally purified.

Process for manufacture of a dendritic polyether

A chain extended dendritic polyether comprising a dendritic core polymer and a chain extension bonded to said core polymer, which chain extended dendritic polyether optionally is at least partially chain terminated and/or partially functionalised. The core polymer is a polyhydric dendritic polyether and the chain extension is obtained by addition of at least one alkylene oxide to at least one hydroxyl group in said core polymer.
