A refrigerator includes a body; a storage compartment; a first door and a second door; and a rotating bar coupled to the first door and configured to close a gap between the first door and the second door when the first door and the second door are closed. The rotating bar includes a case having an accommodating space; a cover; a metallic plate positioned at a front side of the cover and having an end portion bent toward the cover; and a sealing member disposed at a longitudinal end portion of the rotating bar, the sealing member including a first portion engaged with the end portion of the metallic plate and a second portion extending from the first portion of the sealing member in a longitudinal direction to cover a gap formed between the body and the longitudinal end portion of the rotating bar when the first door is closed.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator includes a rotating bar configured to seal a gap between one pair of doors. The rotating bar includes a case provided with an accommodating space; a cover to cover the accommodating space, and having heat conduction blocking parts at both sides thereof; a heat insulation member accommodated in the accommodating space; a metallic plate positioned between the heat conduction blocking parts; and a heat generating member configured to be attached to a rear surface of the metallic plate. An insertion protrusion with an inclined surface is configured to be downwardly movable when the inclined surface is collided with the guide part. Sealing members made of rubber are disposed at vertical end portions of the rotating bar, the sealing members to cover gaps formed at the vertical end portions of the rotating bar when the first door is closed.

A refrigerator includes a rotating bar configured to seal a gap between one pair of doors. The rotating bar includes a case provided with an accommodating space therein while having one surface thereof open, a heat insulation member accommodated in the accommodating space, a cover configured to cover the one surface of the case that is open, and a metallic plate being coupled to an outer side of the cover. The cover includes a heat conduction blocking part being protruded to both sides of the metallic plate while having a bent-shape cross section so as to prevent heat from being transmitted to both side surfaces of the rotating bar after being heat conducted along the metallic plate.

A refrigerator having a valve to control the supply of a refrigerant to a plurality of storage chambers and a control method of the same. An opening time rate of the valve is changed based on modes of the storage chambers to control the amount of the refrigerant supplied to the storage chambers, thereby avoiding concentration of the refrigerant in one of the storage chambers and thus preventing refrigerant shortage in the other storage chambers. Also, left and right temperature deviation of each storage chamber is reduced, thereby achieving uniform temperature distribution of each storage chamber.

Refrigerator having a plurality of storage containers and control method of the same

A refrigerator having a temperature-controlled chamber, which stores food to be readily cooked without a thawing process. A cool air inlet port introduces cool air from the freezer compartment into the temperature-controlled chamber. The cool air inlet port is opened or closed by an intake damper. A cooling fan and a temperature sensor are installed in the temperature-controlled chamber. A cool air discharging duct is provided to guide the cool air from the temperature-controlled chamber into the freezer compartment. An inlet of the cool air discharging duct is connected to a portion of the temperature-controlled chamber. A heater is mounted to an outer surface of the outlet of the cool air discharging duct to perform a defrosting operation.

Refrigerator having temperature controlled chamber

A power consumption prediction method and apparatus for a refrigerator having a defrosting heater is provided. In the power consumption prediction method, a defrosting timer cycle expressed as a cumulative value of an operation time of a compressor is set. The defrosting heater is activated to perform forced defrosting. The compressor is activated so that cooling cycles are completed several times. A defrosting time, a pause time and an operation time of the compressor and the energy consumed during each time are respectively detected. Based on the detected results, a unit run cycle of the refrigerator corresponding to the defrosting timer cycle is estimated. The energy consumption for a predetermined interval of time is estimated. Accordingly, the test time for power consumption prediction for the refrigerator can be shortened.
