A display device includes: a display panel including a first region having a plurality of display cells for displaying an image, and a second region at least partly surrounding the first region, the second region including a plurality of light generation cells for generating light, different from the image, to be detected for touch position sensing; and a pair of cameras located at or near a periphery of the display panel, aligned with respective crossing directions across the display panel, and oriented to detect the light generated by the light generation cells.

Display apparatus having touch screen function

A method of driving a plasma display is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes dividing one screen into a plurality of areas, wherein each area corresponds to at least one of the plurality of discharge cells, and wherein the plurality of areas form a detection pattern. The method also includes displaying the detection pattern in the plasma display and receiving a detection image which has been previously detected or captured, wherein detection image corresponds to at least one of the plurality of areas. The method further includes comparing the received detection image with the detection pattern and determining a position of the detected or captured area based on the comparison.

Field emission device

A waveform generator capable of generating a square wave and a ramp wave using one switching element is provided. A waveform generator includes a first transistor having a drain electrode, a gate electrode, and a source electrode. A first resistor and a first diode are coupled at a common node between a first input terminal and the gate electrode. A second resistor is coupled between the gate electrode and a second input terminal. A first capacitor is coupled between the drain electrode and the common node between the first resistor and the first diode.

Waveform generator and plasma display device using the same

A plasma display panel and a method thereof is described. A frequency of a sustain pulse varies according to a screen load ratio in each subfield or frame. The frequency of the sustain pulse is determined such that power consumption of the plasma display panel, which is a function of the active power and the reactive power of the sustain pulse, is minimized. When the screen load ratio is increased, the frequency of the sustain pulse is increased since the decrease of the active power is increased and the reactive power is maintained.

Plasma display and driving method thereof

A plasma display device includes first to fourth transistors and a plurality of first electrodes. A first terminal of a first capacitor is connected to a power supply supplying a voltage. A second terminal of a second capacitor connected to a second terminal of the first capacitor is connected to a ground terminal. A first diode is connected to the first electrodes through a first inductor and a fifth transistor, which forms a voltage rising path. A second diode is connected to the first electrodes through a second inductor and a sixth transistor, which forms a voltage falling path. A third diode is connected to the third transistor and the second diode, which forms a voltage sustaining path during a voltage rising period. A fourth diode is connected to the second transistor and the first diode, which forms a voltage sustaining path of a voltage falling period.

Plasma display device, apparatus for driving the same, and method of driving the same

A panel driving apparatus including an address power controller for blocking an address power source of at least two capacitors and coupling the panel capacitors during a period between a scan line signal and a next scan line signal, so that the panel capacitors share electric charges, and an address driver for generating display data in response to an address signal by performing a switching operation. Electric charges that are charged in a previous address electrode line and could be discarded to a ground terminal at a next address electrode line are shared between the panel capacitors, thus reducing power consumption and improving power efficiency during an addressing operation.
