The disclosed technology can be used to convert direct-current voltage and current from an input to a different or the same voltage and current at an output. One example direct-current to direct-current (DC-DC) power converter includes a first switch connected between a source voltage and a first side of an inductor, a second switch connected between the first side of the inductor and a ground, a third switch connected between a second side of the inductor and the ground, and a fourth switch connected between the second side of the inductor and a capacitor. The power converter may further include a comparator configured to compare an output voltage at the capacitor to a threshold voltage and based on the result of the comparison selectively activate or deactivate the first, second, third, and fourth switches in a power cycle.

Power management system including a direct-current to direct-current converter having a plurality of switches

Devices, methods and systems provide improved performance for voltage converters and enable more efficient operations by reducing energy loss in a head switch of the voltage converter. These improvements are achieved in-part by reducing one or both of an ohmic conduction loss and a switching loss of the head switch. One example floating head switch includes an n-type metal oxide semiconductor (NMOS) transistor, a capacitor, one or more drivers and an active low switch. The capacitor ends are connected to the supply voltages of the drivers and the active low switch is coupled to, and controlled by, the output of the one or more drivers and turns on or off in response to a change in the input voltage.

High performance switch devices and methods for operating the same

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an N-path filter implemented using a generalized impedance converter (GIC) circuit. The GIC circuit is configured such that the N-path filter has a desired frequency response, which may include a wide passband with steeper rejection than a conventional N-path filter with only a single pole in each filter path. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an N-path filter having a frequency response with multiple concurrent passbands. In certain aspects, the N-path filter with multiple passbands is implemented using the GIC circuit. In other aspects, the N-path filter may include a bandpass response circuit where an inductance of the bandpass response circuit may be implemented using gyrators.

High rejection wideband bandpass N-path filter

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide N-path filters with wider passbands and steeper rejection than conventional N-path filters with only a single pole in each filter path. These N-path filters also have a flatter passband with decreased passband droop. One example N-path filter generally includes a plurality of branches selectively connected with a common node, each branch of the N-path filter comprising a switch connected in series with an impedance comprising a common drain amplifier circuit. In certain aspects, the amplifier circuit may include a degeneration circuit for stability and/or a poly-phase feedback circuit to reduce in-band peaking.

N-path filters with flatter frequency response

A radio frequency (RF) receiver device may include a receive path including a first amplifier. The device also includes a first mixer coupled to an output of the first amplifier and to an input of a second amplifier. Further, the device may include an auxiliary path including a second mixer coupled between an output of the first mixer and an input of the first mixer.

An apparatus includes a low noise amplifier (LNA) having an input configured to receive a radio frequency signal. The apparatus also includes a notch filter coupled to an input of the LNA. The notch filter is configured to attenuate the radio frequency signal at a notch frequency.

A method, an apparatus, and system for filtering a signal in a carrier aggregation system are provided. The apparatus processes carriers via at least two respective paths. Each path receives, via a transconducting module, an input signal and generates a current signal based on the input signal, shifts, via a mixing module, a frequency of the current signal by mixing the current signal with a local oscillating signal corresponding to a respective path, and generates, via an amplifying module, an output voltage signal based on the frequency-shifted signal and a response of the respective path. The apparatus attenuates, via a filtering module, a jamming signal in the input signal to produce responses for the at least two paths, respectively. A response for the respective path has a maximum input impedance at a frequency of the local oscillating signal corresponding to the respective path.

Blocker filtering for carrier aggregation receiver

Techniques for providing a jammer-resistant noise-cancelling receiver front end with band-pass impedance matching and good power efficiency. In an aspect, the center frequency of the band-pass impedance matching advantageously tracks the local oscillator frequency. In an aspect, first and second receive signal paths are provided, with an R-C network coupled to the output of the second receive signal path. The resistance of the R-C network may be selected to provide band-pass impedance matching to the RF input signal. The current outputs of the first and second signal paths are combined using a trans-impedance amplifier (TIA). In an aspect, the TIA may be implemented using a dual input transconductor amplifier to further optimize the noise performance and power efficiency features of the disclosure.

Jammer resistant noise cancelling receiver front end

Techniques for improving rejection of out-of-band interference in a noise-cancelling receive architecture. In an aspect, capacitors blocking in-band signals and passing through out-of-band signals destructively couple an auxiliary mixer output to a mixer output. In a further aspect, cross-coupling capacitors are provided to couple a first signal path with a second signal path of the noise-cancelling receive signal path. Baseband poly phase cross-coupling blocker filtering is further provided for out-of-band interference cancellation to create notch responses at blocker offset frequencies. The techniques disclosed may readily be adapted for multi-phase local oscillator systems.
