The delivering mechanism delivers the tape cartridge between the first and second magazines and the moving mechanism. The moving mechanism performs installing of the tape cartridge against the recording and reproducing mechanism arranged at a location near the lower part of the transferring space.

First and second coils are displaced from each other by a predetermined distance in a predetermined direction and capable of generating an induced electromotive voltage when excited by the exciting coil. Third and fourth coils are displaced from each other by a predetermined distance in the predetermined direction and capable of generating an induced electromotive voltage when excited by the exciting coil. The third and fourth coils are displaced by a predetermined distance from the first and second coils, and all of the coils are similarly constructed.
