Provided is a label printer that includes a conveyance unit that conveys a label paper on which a label is attached and a printing unit that prints on the label. The label printer also includes a peeling unit that includes one pair of members separated in a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the label paper and peels the label from a backing paper. The label printer also includes a backing paper conveyance unit that conveys the backing paper and a moving unit that moves the peeling members towards a direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the backing paper.

According to one embodiment, a printer includes a thermal head, a platen roller, and an urging mechanism configured to urge the thermal head against the platen roller. The printer further includes a first separation mechanism configured to move the thermal head from a proximal position where the thermal head is placed adjacent to the platen roller, to a first separation position where the thermal head is placed farther away from the platen roller than the proximal position, and a second separation mechanism configured to move the thermal head from the proximal position to a second separation position where the thermal head is placed farther away from the platen roller than the proximal position and placed closer to the platen roller than the first separation position. The printer further includes an electric-powered actuator having a movable member configured to reciprocate along a lengthwise direction of the printing medium.

A post-processing method involves using a standby tray to receive a paper sheet to be supplied from a digital copier, a processing tray to receive a paper sheet dropped from a standby tray, a feed member which guides the rear end of a paper sheet received in a standby tray in the feeding direction to a processing tray, and scrapes and sends the rear end of a paper sheet dropped onto a processing tray to a stopper, a press member which clamps the rear end of a paper sheet received in a standby tray by cooperating with two feed members, and a stapler to staple the aligned rear ends of paper sheets. When a first paper sheet is supplied to the standby tray, the press member presses the rear end of the first paper sheet, to receive a second paper.

Paper sheet processing apparatus, and paper sheet processing method

A sheet post-process apparatus includes a waiting tray and a processing tray. The waiting tray is provided in the middle of a conveying path and makes standby sheets in the case where a post-process is required. The processing tray has a function which causes the sheets made standby on the waiting sheet to be dropped by self-weight. With this function, the processing tray receives the sheets moved to be dropped and the sheets conveyed from the conveying path without intervening the waiting tray, before carrying out the post-process. Sheet bundles formed on the processing tray are stacked on a storage tray by a sheet conveying mechanism after they have been post-processed.

A post-processing apparatus has a standby tray to receive a paper sheet to be supplied from a digital copier, a processing tray to receive a paper sheet dropped from a standby tray, a feed member which guides the rear end of a paper sheet received in a standby tray in the feeding direction to a processing tray, and scrapes and sends the rear end of a paper sheet dropped onto a processing tray to a stopper, a press member which clamps the rear end of a paper sheet received in a standby tray by cooperating with two feed members, and a stapler to staple the aligned rear ends of paper sheets. When a first paper sheet is supplied to the standby tray, the press member presses the rear end of the first paper sheet, to receive a second paper.

A sheet processing apparatus having a sheet post-processing unit for performing a post process such as aligning or binding sheets. The sheet processing apparatus is composed of a tray for supporting a sheet bundle, an auxiliary conveying unit including a first arm for hooking an end of the sheet bundle on the tray for moving the first arm, thereby conveying the sheet bundle to a predetermined position on the tray, and returning the first arm from the predetermined position to a home position, and a main conveying unit having a second arm for taking over the sheet bundle from the first arm at the predetermined position on the tray and hooking an end of the sheet bundle for moving the second arm, conveying the sheet bundle taken over, and discharging it from the tray.

Sheet processing apparatus and sheet processing method

In a sheet finishing apparatus of the present invention, when temporarily loading a plurality of sheets of paper on a standby tray until a processing tray finishes processing, to prevent a sheet of paper loaded first from being pressed out by a sheet of paper ejected later, a chuck for retaining the rear ends of the sheets of paper is installed on the downstream side of the standby tray, and for curled sheets of paper, a standby tray guide and an arm member for suppressing curling of the central part of the sheets of paper are installed, thus matching on the standby tray is stabilized.

A sheet processing apparatus comprises a processing tray for loading a sheet bundle, a first conveying unit having a rotary shaft which is installed at least at the end on the downstream side in the direction for moving the sheet bundle on the processing tray and is driven to rotate via a first drive source and a drive unit and a roller installed on the rotary shaft for loading and conveying the sheet bundle and discharging the sheet bundle from the end on the downstream side and from the processing tray, and a second conveying unit having a pair of pulleys having at least one of them installed rotatably on the rotary shaft on the downstream side driven to rotate via a second drive source and a drive unit, a belt stretched over the pair of pulleys, and an arm installed on the belt for hooking an end of the sheet bundle on the processing tray, conveying it together with the roller, and discharging the sheet bundle from the end on the downstream side and from the processing tray. The arm of the second conveying unit synchronizes the speed when moving along the straight portion of the belt with the rotational speed of the roller of the first conveying unit and changes the speed when moving in the peripheral direction of the pulley on the downstream side among the pair of pulleys from the rotational speed of the roller.

Sheet processing apparatus

A sheet post-processing apparatus includes a processing tray and a stapler. The processing tray has a mounting area, a flexible portion, and an edge holding part. A sheaf of sheets is made on the processing tray. A sheet P to be stapled is stacked on the mounting area. The flexible portion is formed integrally with the mounting area and at the same level as the upper surface of the mounting area, along the edge of the mounting area of the side to staple the sheaf of sheets, and is bent easier than the mounting area in the direction of the thickness of the sheaf of sheets toward the mounting area. The stapler has a fixed part and an arm, and staples a sheaf of sheets. The fixed part is provided deviated from the upper surface of the mounting area to the mounting unit.

Sheet post-processing apparatus

A waiting tray is provided in a sheet-conveying path and holds sheets if the sheets need to be post-processed. A processing tray receives sheets conveyed from the waiting tray. It may receive sheets conveyed through the sheet-conveying path and coming not via the waiting tray, before the sheets are post-processed. A conveying mechanism is provided, which causes the sheets to fall, due to gravity, from the waiting tray onto a processing tray. A sheet-aligning mechanism aligns the sheets on the processing tray, at their transverse edges and longitudinal edges. On the processing tray, the sheets are post-processed, forming a bundle. The conveying mechanism conveys the bundle of sheets to a storage tray. An opening is provided between the waiting tray and the processing tray and located at downstream of the waiting tray and processing tray.

A waiting tray is provided in a sheet-conveying path and holds sheets if the sheets need to be post-processed. A processing tray receives sheets conveyed from the waiting tray. It may receive sheets conveyed through the sheet-conveying path and coming not via the waiting tray, before the sheets are post-processed. A conveying mechanism is provided, which causes the sheets to fall, due to gravity, from the waiting tray onto a processing tray. A sheet-aligning mechanism aligns the sheets on the processing tray, at their transverse edges and longitudinal edges. On the processing tray, the sheets are post-processed, forming a bundle. The conveying mechanism conveys the bundle of sheets to a storage tray. The waiting trays have sidewalls, each having at least one part that is inclined outwards.

A sheet post-process apparatus of the present invention has a standby tray for stably dropping sheets of paper onto a processing tray, so that a pair of tray members for loading ejected sheets of paper is formed so as to project from the wall face of the standby tray and the loading face of sheets of paper is narrowed from the front end side of the sheets of paper toward the rear end side thereof.

A sheet finishing apparatus of the present invention takes in sheets of paper ejected from an image forming apparatus through a taking-in port and clamping and conveying the sheets of paper by a pair of pinch rollers for post processing, has a sheet guidance member which supports one of the pair of pinch rollers and can rotate between a first position where the one pinch roller and the other pinch roller make contact with each other and a second position where the one pinch roller is released from the other pinch roller, and furthermore includes a tray for loading the sheets of paper conveyed by the pair of pinch rollers and an assist arm which is attached rotatably to the sheet guidance member and when the one pinch roller and the other pinch roller are in contact with each other, is projected in the direction for pressing the sheets of paper in the tray and when the one pinch roller is released from the other pinch roller, is rotated in the opposite direction.

In a sheet post-process apparatus of the present invention, a processing tray for loading sheets of paper fed via a standby tray for making ejected sheets of paper stand by or not via the standby tray and a standby tray roller for performing a first operation of making contact with sheets of paper loaded on the standby tray and matching and a second operation of making contact with sheets of paper loaded on the standby tray and conveying them toward a paper ejection tray are installed in the neighborhood of the standby tray.
