A lighting device includes an indoor lamp (), being provided in the cabin of a railroad vehicle () in order to wholly irradiate the inside of the cabin over the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a vehicle body power supply (), supplying electric power to the indoor lamp (), and a storage battery (), being charged with a voltage applied by the vehicle body power supply (). The indoor lamp () includes a general lamp light source () and a standby lamp light source (), being lighted at an illuminance lower than that at which the general lamp light source () is lighted, and the general lamp source () being supplied with electric power from the vehicle body power supply () not through the storage battery (), while the standby lamp light source () being supplied with electric power from the vehicle body power supply () through the storage battery (). In an emergency, electric power is supplied from the storage battery () only to the standby lamp light source (), and the standby lamp light source () is continued to be lighted at the low illuminance.

A pile forming apparatus allowing use of a driving motor of small capacity for effectuating terry motion while assuring high quality for manufactured pile fabric includes a ball screw constituting an output shaft of the driving motor with which driven nuts threadedly engage. One driven nut is operatively connected to a first arm of a displacement-direction change-over lever by a link. Displacement of the driven nuts caused by rotation of the ball screw is transmitted to an expansion bar via the link, the change-over lever, a first rod, an intermediate lever, a second rod and a supporting lever to displace the cloth fell of the pile woven fabric.

Cloth fell displacement in a terry loom

A take-up rate and a let-off rate in warp feed on a loom are controlled while a displacement (.DELTA.L) of a cloth fell position C is taken into account. The system comprises a cloth fell position compensation circuit (2, 16, 21) which outputs a cloth fell compensation signal (.DELTA..omega..sub.c) to compenate a displacement (.DELTA.L) of the cloth fell position (C) when a weaving condition such as a target weft density (D*), a target warp tension (T*) or the kinds of weft and warp yarns is changed. The cloth fell compensation signal is added to a basic warp feed rate (.omega..sub.f) obtained from D*, so that the displacement motion of the cloth fell is completed in a shorter time. According to this compensation, a weft density of a resultant fabric rapidly coincides with the target weft density.

System for controlling warp take up and let off rates

A loom supervising system including a supervising computer adapted to fetch the weaving information including the information concerning warp or weft breakage or weft insertion errors for each of a plurality of looms and a multiplexor type relaying unit provided on a signal line interconnecting the supervising computer and the looms. To this relaying unit is connected a transport car control board of an unmanned transport car adapted for transporting exchange components such as the warp beam or the cloth roll. Prescribed command signals from the control board of the transport car are transmitted to a deceleration stop command device provided at each loom by way of the relaying unit and the monitoring signal line.

A looming apparatus for a loom includes in general a warp beam handling unit for attaching and removing a warp beam to and from the loom, and a handling unit for supporting loom components including at least heddles and a reed threaded by the warp from the warp beam. A supporting platform is provided on a truck so as to be reciprocated between a stand-by position and a looming position. The warp beam handling unit and the handling unit for supporting the components threaded by the warp yarn are installed on this supporting platform. In the working position of the truck for the loom, the supporting platform is expanded from the truck to the looming position on the loom for performing the required operation at this position. After termination of such operation, the supporting platform is returned to the stand-by position on the truck, while the truck is moved to the looming preparatory position.

In a jet loom embodying the present invention, in general, measured lengths of the weft yarn are inserted by fluid actuation into the shed delimited between the upper and lower warp yarns. When stop signals for the loom are sensed, the weft yarn about to be inserted into the shed is deflected under suction from its normal course and thus inhibited from entering the warp shed until the time of complete stop of the operation of the loom, which is braked. After the termination of braking, the moving components of the loom are operated in reverse and brought in this manner to a predetermined angular position of one weaving cycle. With the loom resting in this position, the lastly inserted weft yarn is disposed of. Suction of the weft yarn is performed by a suction pipe having a suction opening disposed near the usual weft route. This suction pipe is mounted for example intermediate the jet nozzle and the selvage towards the jet nozzle, intermediate the weft yarn supply unit and the jet nozzle or in the neighborhood of the temple. According to preferred embodiments, a structure is provided for guiding the weft yarn toward the suction opening of said suction pipe.

Method and apparatus for disposal of weft yarn in a jet loom

A method for preparing weft supply to be picked upon starting the operation of a weaving loom, the weaving loom comprising a main motor for driving the weaving loom, a crank shaft driven by the main motor, a drum for measuring weft to be picked by a main air jet nozzle, a driving system of the weft measuring drum, and an auxiliary motor for driving the weft measuring drum. The method comprises releasing the normal connection between the driving system of the weft measuring drum and the main motor for driving the weaving loom so as to enable an auxiliary motor to drive the driving system of the weft measuring drum. The weft measuring drum is then positioned by the auxiliary motor at a position suitable for being threaded with the weft. The weft is then threaded onto the weft measuring drum, whereupon the weft measuring drum is driven by the auxiliary motor so as to store a predetermined amount of weft thereon.

An apparatus for measuring the weft yarn length for a loom constructed in accordance with the present invention comprises at least two weft yarn supply units each having a weft yarn length measurement element presenting a yarn winding surface, an equal number of electric motors each adapted for winding weft yarn around said yarn winding surface of the measurement element, and weft yarn latching mechanisms for controlling the amount of the weft yarn wound on each winding surface and the transfer of the wound yarn in the weft inserting direction. Each of the rotational speeds of the respective motors and the operation of the respective weft yarn latching mechanisms may be controlled by a control unit in accordance with a preset weft yarn selection program. Each yarn length measurement element may be associated with a sensor for sensing the number of times the weft yarn is wound on the element. In the weft inserting device of the invention, a pair of main nozzles are supported by a change lever and the motion of a cam lever operatively linked with movable loom parts for reciprocation thereby is transmitted to said change lever. The timing of motion transmission and interruption is controlled by a timing control unit. According to a preferred embodiment, the control unit is a microcomputer and the timing setting can be changed by changing the weft yarn selection program stored in the microcomputer.

An apparatus is provided for guiding a weft yarn into the shed of a jet loom by a number of weft guiding members, each having an aperture with an opening. The weft guiding members are composed of a first group of weft guiding members of which the openings are of a relatively narrow width and formed in upper parts of the weft guiding members in the first group, and a second group of weft guiding members of which the openings are of a relatively broad width and formed in side parts of the weft guiding members in the second group.
