Propylene random copolymer and film laminate thereof

A thermoplastic resin composition including at least (1) a heat-treated composition obtained by heat-treating dynamically a specific polypropylene and an olefin copolymer rubber in the presence of an organic peroxide and a crosslinking agent and (2) a specified polypropylene. In addition, an inorganic filler can be added to the thermoplastic resin composition. These compositions are superior in mechanical properties such as flexural modulus, thermal rigidity resistance and impact resistance, and can be suitably used as materials for home electric parts and the like.

Thermoplastic resin composition

A thermoplastic resin composition which has a melt flow rate of 25 to 30 g/10 min and a flexural modulus at 23.degree. C. of 20,000 kg/cm.sup.2 or more and which comprises (1) 78 to 87% by weight of a specific crystalline polypropylene �referred to hereinafter as (A)! in which the propylene homopolymer portion has a Q value of 3.0 to 5.0, an isotactic pentad fraction of 0.975 or more and an intrinsic viscosity �.eta.! of 1.00 to 1.10 dl/g as measured at 135.degree. C. in tetralin, (2) 3 to 10% by weight of at least two specific rubber components selected from the group consisting of (B) 1 to 9% by weight of an ethylene-butene-1 copolymer rubber, (C) 1 to 9% by weight of an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber and (D) 1 to 9% by weight of an alkenyl aromatic compound-containing rubber; and (3) 10 to 12% by weight of talc having an average particle diameter of 4 .mu.m or less, and an injection molded article of the thermoplastic resin composition, said thermoplastic resin composition satisfying the impact strength and rigidity required as a material for an interior automotive trim and having a short molding cycle and good surface quality.

Crystalline ethylene-propylene copolymer with ethylene copolymer(s)

A thermoplastic resin composition with improved low-temperature impact strength and rigidity against heat, comprising (I) 10-40% by weight of a mixture of (a) 10-50% by weight of a propylene homopolymer and/or an ethylene-propylene block copolymer (an isotactic pentad fraction of a propylene homopolymer portion being 0.98 or above) and (b) 50-90% by weight of an olefin-based copolymer rubber, said mixture having been dynamically heat treated in the presence of an organic peroxide and a crosslinking agent, (II) 20-85% by weight of a propylene homopolymer and/or an ethylene-propylene block copolymer (an isotactic pentad fraction of a propylene homopolymer portion being 0.98 or above and a melt index of the propylene homopolymer portion being 30-150 g/10 min), and (III) 5-40% by weight of an inorganic filler.

A propylene random copolymer and a film laminate thereof is described having excellent blocking resistance and transparency and substantially maintaining favorable low-temperature heat-sealing properties after corona discharge treatment. The propylene random copolymer of the invention includes a propylene component and an .alpha.-olefin component having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein the content of the .alpha.-olefin component is in the range of about 6% to about 40% by weight, the intrinsic viscosity �.eta.! measured in tetralin at 135.degree. A thermoplastic resin composition which has a melt flow rate of 20 to 30 g/10 min and a flexural modulus at 23.degree. C. of 30,000 kg/cm.sup.2 or more and which comprises (A) 60 to 75% by weight of a specific crystalline polypropylene in which the propylene homopolymer portion has a Q value of 3.0 to 5.0, an isotactic pentad fraction of 0.975 or more and an intrinsic viscosity �.eta.! of 0.95 to 1.15 dl/g as measured at 135.degree. C. in tetralin, (B) 2 to 8% by weight of an ethylene-butene-1 copolymer rubber, (C) 2 to 8% by weight of an ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber, (D) 10 to 20% by weight of talc having an average particle diameter of 4 .mu.m or less, and (E) 5 to 20% by weight of fibrous magnesium oxysulfate, and an injection molded article of the thermoplastic resin composition, said thermoplastic resin composition satisfying the impact strength and rigidity required as a material for an instrumental panel and having a short molding cycle and good surface quality.

A polypropylene composition comprising a melt-kneaded polyprolylene composition obtained, using Zieglar-Natta catalyst, by polymerizing a monomer comprising propylene to form a polymer comprising polypropylene (component A) in amount of from 60 to 80% by weight to the total polymer amount in substantially the absence of an inert solvent in a 1st step and then polymerizing a mixture of ethylene content of from 20 to 50% by weight (component B) in a vapor phase to form an ethylene-propylene copolymer (component B) in amount of from 20 to 40% by weight to the total polymer amount in a 2nd step, said polypropylene composition being such that the intrinsic viscosity of component B ([.eta.]B) is at least 2.0 dl/g and the ratio ([.eta.]B/[.eta.]A) of the intrinsic viscosity of the component B to the intrinsic viscosity of the component A ([.eta.]A) is 1.8 or less and the melt flow rate of the polypropylene composition after melt-kneaded being 0.5 to 10 g/10 minutes.

A polypropylene composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a crystalline propylene polymer having a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of less than 5.0 and from 0.0001 to 1.0 part by weight of a crystal nucleating agent, the composition having a crystallization temperature at least 1.5.degree.
