An isolation transformer core having a coil and a core member made by injection molding a mixture containing 10 to 50&#xb1;3 volume % of a soft magnetic material and the remainder being an insulating material having an electrical insulating property.

Core

A stator core () is mounted to a stationary member () and electric wiring on the stator side is carried out, to thereby assemble a first sub-module (), and a rotor core () is mounted to a rotary member () and electric wiring on the rotor side is carried out, to thereby assemble a second sub-module (). Thereafter, the first and second sub-modules are assembled together, with the stator core and the rotor core opposed to each other, whereby a separable transformer is assembled. A guide member (), having first and second reference faces defining reference positions in diametrical and axial directions of the rotation shaft (), respectively, is provided in the rotation shaft () rotatably supported by the stationary member and mounted with the rotor core. Mounting positions of the cores are determined with use of the guide member, thereby precisely setting a center position between the cores and a gap length g.

A diagnosis apparatus ( ) mounted to a separable transformer includes an arithmetic control section ( ) for inputting, through a differential amplifier ( ), a signal smoothing circuit and a voltage detecting section ( ), a mutual induction signal generated in a primary coil ( ) of the separable transformer when dc power from a dc power supply section ( ) and an ac signal from an oscillator ( ) are applied to a capacitor (C) which cooperates with the primary core to form a resonance circuit. The arithmetic control section determines the presence or absence of a wire breakage or short-circuit failure in a secondary-side closed circuit of the separable transformer by comparing a frequency characteristic of mutual induction signal, determined based on mutual induction signals successively supplied thereto while the frequency of the ac signal from the oscillator varies, with frequency characteristics for normal, wire breakage and short-circuit conditions stored beforehand in a storage section ( ).

An isolation transformer is provided having primary and secondary cores ( ) and primary and secondary coils ( ), with the primary coil and the secondary coil being disposed with a gap G provided therebetween. The manufacturing method for the antenna modules includes a first step of setting in a mold a first conductive base material including a plurality of the ground elements integrally connected together, a second conductive base material including a plurality of the antenna elements integrally connected together, and a third conductive base material including a plurality of the loop elements integrally connected together; a second step of filling a cavity defined in the mold with a curing fluid and then curing the curing fluid to thereby form an element support base material including a plurality of the element supports integrally connected together; and a third step of cutting the element support base material together with the first, second and third conductive base materials to thereby obtain a plurality of the antenna modules.

A composite magnetic and optical head comprises a magnetic sensor including a magnetic core which is adapted to detect a magnetic pattern recorded on a record medium; an optical sensor including a nonmagnetic light transmitting member located along a distal gap of the magnetic sensor and an optical fiber bundle having one end connected to the light transmitting member, and adapted to detect an optical pattern recorded on the record medium; and a holder containing the magnetic and optical sensors in the internal space thereof, the holder having two opposite side walls extending at right angles to the distal gap of the magnetic core and one end face from which the distal gap projects outward. The magnetic core of the head includes a wide portion, situated close to the distal gap and projecting outward from the one end face of the holder, and a narrow portion surrounded by the holder so as to be located inside the one end face, the wide portion being at least wider than the distance between the opposite side walls. If a plurality of such composite heads are arranged side by side to form a multihead, the respective distal gaps of the adjacent cores can be arranged intimately in contact with one another without being hindered by the holders of the heads. Thus, the medium identifying accuracy of the head is improved.
