According to one embodiment, a memory system connectable to a host includes a nonvolatile memory, a controller, and a power control circuit. The controller controls the nonvolatile memory. The power control circuit controls power to be supplied to the controller and the nonvolatile memory and includes one or more DC/DC converters. The nonvolatile memory and the controller include one or more circuit blocks. Each of the one or more DC/DC converters supplies an internal power supply voltage to one of the one or more circuit blocks. A first DC/DC converter of the one or more DC/DC converters transitions to a forced pulse width modulation mode in response to the memory system that has transitioned from a low power consumption mode to a normal operation mode.

Memory system and power control circuit

A memory system in an embodiment includes: a nonvolatile memory; a memory controller configured to control the memory; and a power supply circuit configured to supply a voltage of power of at least one of the memory and the memory controller, wherein the power supply circuit is configured to: store first information having a value of the voltage to be supplied; output an output voltage based on the value of the voltage specified by the stored first information; detect an output current at an output end of the output voltage; compare a value of the detected output current with a threshold value; and update the stored first information to second information based on a result of the comparison, the second information having an updated value of the voltage to be supplied.

Memory system and method of controlling power therein

According to one embodiment, a memory system is disclosed. The system includes a nonvolatile memory, a controller which controls the nonvolatile memory and to which a first voltage is supplied, and a circuit to which first and second signals from a host device are input, or the first signal is not input and the second signal is input from the host device, when the memory system is connected to the host device. The circuit converts a second voltage of the second signal into the first voltage when the first and second signal have the second voltage and the second voltage is lower than the first voltage, and does not convert a voltage of the second signal into the first voltage when the first signal is not input and the voltage of the second signal is the first voltage.

According to one embodiment, a memory system includes first, second, and third ICs. The first IC includes a non-volatile semiconductor memory. The second IC includes a controller configured to control the non-volatile semiconductor memory. The third IC is configured to receive an external first power supply voltage and generate a second power supply voltage. The third IC is connected to the second IC via an interface according to a serial communication standard. A temperature sensor element is connected to the third IC.

A semiconductor device includes a connector connectable to a host, a power supply circuit which includes an input portion that receives first power from the host via the connector, an output portion, and a switch that is connected to the input portion and the output portion and controls whether to supply the first power to the output portion, the power supply circuit generating second power and third power from the first power, a semiconductor memory which receives the second power from the output portion, and a controller which receives the third power from the output portion and controls the semiconductor memory. The power supply circuit turns off the switch and stops supply of power to the semiconductor memory and the controller when the second power exceeds a first value or when the third power exceeds a second value.

A semiconductor device includes a connector configured for connection to a host, a power circuit supplied with a first voltage from the host via the connector, the power circuit including first and second channels configured to generate second and third voltages, respectively, from the first voltage, a semiconductor memory supplied with the second voltage via the first channel, and a controller for the semiconductor memory, supplied with the third voltage via the second channel. When the first voltage is less than a first threshold, the power circuit turns off the first channel and the second channel.

Semiconductor device and control method thereof

According to one embodiment, there is provided a memory system including a non-volatile memory, a controller, a first interface circuit, a first signal line, and a second signal line. The controller is configured to control the non-volatile memory. The first interface circuit is configured to perform level conversion between a first power source level and a second power source level which is lower than the first power source level. The second power source level is used as a driving voltage of the controller. The first signal line is configured to connect to the first interface circuit. The second signal line is configured to connect the first interface circuit and a signal terminal of the controller. A potential of the second signal line is able to be pulled up to the second power source level.

According to one embodiment, there is provided a memory system that is connected to a host apparatus. The memory system includes a transmitting port and a controller. The transmitting port transmits a transmission signal to the host apparatus. The controller includes a first output interface that is connected to the transmitting port and a second output interface that is connected to the transmitting port. The memory system is configured such that a drivability of an output from the first output interface is larger than a drivability of an output from the second output interface in a first mode.
