An ink container has a liquid retaining member accommodation chamber for accommodating a liquid retaining member, which is in fluid communication with an ink accommodation chamber for accommodating ink through a fluid communication path. An ink introduction groove extends substantially along an entirety of an inner corner portion of a bottom wall of the ink accommodation chamber to the fluid communication path.

Liquid container for ink jet head

A capped liquid container comprises a liquid container for retaining liquid, having a supply opening formed for supplying the liquid to the recording devices of an ink jet recording apparatus, and a cap fixed to the liquid container for closing the supply opening, the cap being removed from the liquid container by rotating the cap. This cap is formed by a rigid member and an elastic member, and the elastic member is provided with a first engagement portion, while a second engagement portion is formed on the edge circumference of the supply opening to engage with the first engagement portion. Then, the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion are sealingly pressed together, and at the same time, a part of the rigid member of the cap is fixed to the liquid container. With the structure thus arranged, the contact surface between the first and second engagement portions produces the sealing effect, hence making it possible to fabricate a capped liquid container having a high water tightness and air tightness. Further when the liquid container is unsealed, it is easy to open the liquid container without causing liquid to spread externally with the provision of the rigid member to the cap which prevents the container from being passed inwardly when being unsealed.

A liquid container includes a main body for accommodating liquid contributable to image formation; a liquid absorbing material, accommodated in said main body, for holding the liquid; a liquid supply port, in said main body, for supplying the liquid toward an ejection head for the image formation; an air vent for fluid communication between said main body and an ambience; wherein a projected surface is projected toward inside of said main body at a part of an inner surface of said main body adjacent said liquid supply port.

A packaging structure of the present invention is provided for an ink tank having an ink supply port and an atmosphere communicating port. It has a seal member for sealing the ink supply port, a seal member for sealing the atmosphere communicating port, and an integrated covering member for integrally covering the ink tank having at least these seal members. A partial breakage of the covering member leads to open the atmosphere communicating port at first. Thus, the combination of the packaging structure and the ink tank is constructed so as to open the atmosphere communicating port at first with reliability. It is functionally required at the time of pulling out the ink tank from the package and also at the time of physical distribution without causing an ink leakage, regardless of the shape of the ink tank.

A liquid container for an ink jet apparatus requires only one liquid preserving container for a single kind of liquid even when a plurality of ink jet recording elements are used and which can also be expected to improve the printing density and the printing speed. For this purpose, a plurality of liquid supplying portions are provided in a liquid container having a liquid containing portion containing therein a sponge or the like for holding a single kind of liquid, and a liquid supplying port for supplying the liquid to ink jet recording elements.

Liquid container for an ink jet recording apparatus

A container for containing liquid to be ejected. The container includes a negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber for accommodating a negative pressure producing member. The negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber is provided with an air vent for fluid communication with ambience and a liquid supply portion for supplying the liquid to a liquid ejecting head having ejection outlets. The container also includes a liquid containing chamber which is substantially hermetically sealed except for a fluid communication path through which the liquid containing chamber is in fluid communication with the negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber. A partition is provided for separating the negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber and the liquid containing chamber. The partition is provided with an ambience introduction path for introducing the ambience into the liquid containing chamber from the negative pressure producing member accommodating chamber. The ambience introduction path forms a capillary force generating portion. The capillary force which is produced by the capillary force generating portion satisfies a relationship between that capillary force and potential head differences, head losses, and other capillary forces in the container.

An ink supplying apparatus includes an ink flow passage connecting an ink storing portion for storing ink and an ejecting portion for ejecting the ink; a chamber disposed in the ink flow passage; a filter which divides the chamber into two spaces, one of which is provided with an ink entrance opening leading to the ink storing portion, and the other of which is provided with an ink exit opening leading to the ejecting portion; wherein the ink exit opening is disposed adjacent to the top wall of the chamber, with respect to gravity direction, and also, the ink exit opening is disposed above a level at which the ink entrance opening is disposed, with respect to direction.

Ink supplying apparatus and ink recording apparatus having same

An ink tank cartridge having ink-storing part for storing ink to be supplied to a recording head which ejects ink in droplets and being mountable to and demountable from a recording apparatus, the ink tank cartridge comprises a main body of a container constituting the ink-storing part; an ink-absorbent held in the main body of the container for storing the ink; an ink-supplying part for supplying the ink to the recording head; and an air communication part to communicate the interior of the main body of the container with the air, the air communication part having a large-diameter opening capable of opening the interior of the main body of the container to the outside and being provided with a plug member having a fine opening attachably to and detachably from the large-diameter opening.
