A projection display unit () includes a body () and an invisible light application unit (). The body () includes a projection optical system and a detection optical system. The projection optical system projects an image onto a projection surface (). The detection optical system acquires an imaging signal based on invisible light. The invisible light application unit () applies the invisible light along a surface in vicinity of the projection surface while being placed on a surface that is an extension of the projection surface. The body () is movable with respect to an output opening () of the invisible light application unit, and a position of the body is adjustable with respect to the projection surface.

Projection display unit

A projection display unit includes, in a housing, a visible light illuminator, a light valve that modulates a first polarized component included in light outputted from the visible light illuminator, on a basis of an image signal, a projection lens that projects light modulated by the light valve onto a projection plane, a detection light-source section that outputs invisible light for detection, and an imaging device that receives a second polarized component included in light that is based on the invisible light. The detection light-source section is movable relative to the housing, and outputs the invisible light in a direction parallel to or a direction forming a fixed angle with respect to the projection plane.

A portable electronic deviceincludes a horizontally long casing, both ends of which are gripped by a user's both hands, respectively. The device further includes a LCD fit into the front face of the casing. Outwardly projecting bulges are respectively formed at both sides of the rear face of the casing where fingers of the user gripping the casingplaced. Since the fingers and palms are naturally flexed to fit to the dome-like bulgesL,R, the portable electronic devicefits comfortably in the user's hands. The operability is hard to be degraded even if the device is vibrated strongly during a game play with the device.

Projector

A portable electronic device () has a long sideways housing () whose both ends are held by the hands of a user and an LCD fitted in the surface of the housing (). Bulges (L,R) projecting outward are formed on both end portions of the rear face of the housing (), which both end portions being held by fingers of the user holding the housing. When the fingers and palms of user's hands are placed along the bulges (L,R) with the fingers and palms bent naturally, the device fits the hands and operability is less likely to be impaired even the user violently moves in game play with the device.

A disk accommodating device for accommodating a disk includes a housing on which an opening portion for allowing the disk to be accommodated into a disk accommodating section therethrough is formed, and a lid member for closing up the opening portion. The housing has a support portion for supporting a one-end side of the lid member for pivotal motion such that the other end side of the lid member may move toward and away from the housing. The disk accommodating section has an upright piece attached for pivotal motion on the side opposite to the side thereof on which the support portion is provided such that the upright piece engages at one end thereof with the disk accommodating section and at the other end thereof with the lid member so as to be erected uprightly from the disk accommodating section in response to pivotal motion of the lid member. The upright piece has a raising up portion provided thereon for raising up, when the lid member is pivoted in a direction in which the lid member is spaced away from the housing, the disk accommodated in the disk accommodating section from the disk accommodating section.

In a disk containing body including a containing section () for containing a disk (D) formed by mounting a disk main body in a cabinet and a lid section () for closing a disk receiving aperture of the containing section (), the containing section () has a rising wall () that surrounds at least part of the outer periphery of the disk (D) and rises from the bottom surface of the containing section (), a pair of anchoring claws () projecting from the lateral surface of the rising wall () toward each other with the disk (D) interposed between them so as to press the contained disk (D) from the aperture side of the containing section () toward the bottom surface thereof and a plurality of supporting projections () formed at the opposite sides of the line (A) connecting the pair of anchoring claws () and adapted to support the disk (D) at the bottom surface thereof.

Battery

A disc recording and/or reproducing apparatus comprises an opening, a closing member, a tray and a drive mechanism. The opening is formed at the front of the apparatus. The closing member closes and discloses the opening. The tray receives a disc thereon. The tray is moved between a first position where the tray is projected out of the opening and generally perpendicular to the front of the apparatus and a second position where the tray is retracted into the enclosure through the opening and generally parallel to the front of the apparatus. The tray drive mechanism moves the closing member between a position where the closing member discloses the opening and a position where the closing member closes the opening, and the tray between the above-mentioned first and second positions.
