In a flat luminescent lamp fitted to an under surface of the liquid crystalline TV display panel to backlight its image, a pair of the electrode plates 14 of cold cathode type are opposingly positioned in the cavity. The electrode plate has a concave cross section, auxiliary electrodes on each electrode plate project toward the other electrode plate from both terminations and has a lead plate projecting outwardly in the same direction as the extract tube of the lamp.

Flat luminescent lamp for liquid crystalline display

A flat CRT having a phosphor screen inclined with respect to the center axis of an electron beam and formed by applying phosphors to the inner surface of a tube wall. The tube inner surface is defined by rotating a plurality of logarithmic spiral curves having a constant angle of incidence and present in the x-y plane of a polar coordinate system in which the deflection center of the electron beam is its origin, the center axis extends through the origin and serves as the x-axis, and the y-axis extends through the origin and intersects the x-axis at right angles therewith. The spiral curves are rotated about the y-axis each through a specified angle to obtain a group of logarithmic curves defining the tube inner surface.

Flat cathode-ray tube and method of fabricating same

A flat color CRT having a phosphor screen comprises red, green and, blue primary phosphor color stripes arranged at a spacing, and phosphor index stripes arranged in some of the spaces between the phosphor color stripes in a definite relation thereto. A black nonluminescent substance is provided between the phosphor index stripes and positioned at least in the spaces between the phosphor color stripes, and a metallic layer of sufficient thickness formed on the inner side of a tube panel and positioned in a corresponding relationship to the phosphor color stripes.

Flat color cathode-ray tube with phosphor index stripes

A flat color CRT wherein a single beam emitted from an electron gun scans the inner surface of a tube wall and which includes a phosphor screen formed on the walls inner surface. The phosphor screen comprises a nonluminescent substance and phosphor index stripes with the substance interposed between the stripes. Red, green, blue primary phosphor color stripes have a sufficient thickness and are arranged repeatedly on the nonluminescent substance at a spacing in a definite relation to the phosphor index stripes.

A solar heat collecting apparatus which comprises a cylindrical outer member through which solar heat energy may be penetrated, a cylindrical inner member capable of absorbing solar heat energy disposed in said outer member, the inside of said inner member being formed as a passage for a heating medium, and end plates through which the end portions of said inner member are hermetically projected and for hermetically closing the open ends of said outer member, said end plates being provided at the peripheries thereof with annular grooves to be charged with bonding material, said annular grooves having the outer peripheral walls lower than the inner peripheral walls thereof to prevent said bonding material from flowing from the annular grooves toward the centers of said end plates over the inner peripheral walls, thereby to prevent the occurrence of cracks in the solidified bonding material and to subsequently prevent the break of a vacuum formed in the inside of said outer member, whereby the apparatus is improved in reliability and life-time.

Solar heat collecting apparatus

A solar heat collecting apparatus which may realize improvements in workability in the manufacturing process, easier handling in transporation and installation, and lower manufacturing and handling costs, and which comprises an outer tube of transparent glass, a heat collecting tube disposed therein of which the inside is formed as a passage for a heating medium, and metallic end plates for hermetically closing the space between said heat collecting tube and each of the end open portions of said outer tube, one of said end plates provided with an exhaust tubulure.

A solar heat collecting apparatus comprises at least one heat collecting element comprising a cylindrical outer member in which at least its circumferential wall has permeability to solar radiant energy and the two end faces of the cylinder are closed, a cylindrical inner member disposed in the outer member with the interposition of a thermal insulating space with its either end protruding beyond each end face of the outer member, an absorbing means for absorbing the difference between the amounts of heat expansion and contraction of the outer and inner members, the two members and the means being integrally formed.
