An object model has a hierarchical structure composed of a data model representing an attribute structure as a template, an object model as a higher model than the data model, a role model as a higher model than the object model, the role model representing the content of a process to be executed in the environment as a set of a plurality of object models, and a process model as the highest model, the process model defining a dynamic process cooperatively executed by a plurality of role models as one process. According to the first aspect of the present invention, a communication manager is interposed between a common platform having a plurality of windows and an extensible Window-based Elaboration Language (WELL) system. Dynamic image processor

A language processing system using object networks in a computer system which manages and processes as objects the data to be operated on and the functions operating on the data. The objects are classified roughly into noun objects and verb objects. An object network expressing the noun objects as nodes and the verb objects as branches is used as a reference model. In the reference model, when the content of a function of a verb object is made to act on a noun object existing at a certain node, a noun object in the direction of the branch corresponding to the name of the verb object, which is the object to be processed, is obtained, permitting a system for a specific field of application to be easily constructed.

A scalar data processing method and apparatus for compressing scalar data defined on a two-dimensional surface and for reconstructing the two-dimensional scalar data based on the compressed data. Edge lines of the scalar data are detected, a domain is obtained on a horizontal line intersecting with the edge lines and between the edge lines, and a function is determined as an approximation of a Laplacian of the two-dimensional scalar data at each point in the cut domain. The two-dimensional scalar data is compressed by replacing the two-dimensional scalar data at every point with scalar data at the edge lines, scalar data for providing gradients of the two-dimensional scalar data on the edge lines, and the function determined above. The two-dimensional scalar data by interpolating the two-dimensional scalar data based on the scalar data is reconstructed at the edge lines, scalar data for providing gradients of the two-dimensional scalar data on the edge lines, and the above function.

Scalar data processing method and apparatus

A color picture image processing system for effecting hue processing and hue modification based on a derivation of chrominance components. A contour line determination unit determines a contour line in response to picture information and possibly sketch drawing information. A contour line chrominance providing unit determines a plurality of main points on the contour line and determines a chrominance main point vectors for the main points to provide chrominance contour vectors. The system includes a window unit for holding a new window setting resulting from processing a modification, a contour line modification unit for supplying instructions for modification of the contour line determined by the contour line determination unit and a contour line inner range chrominance processing unit for providing chrominance inner range vectors inside a range defined by the contour line. Color image processing system with hue processing and modification

An image information code processing system in this invention compresses and encodes a 2-valued image information in a facsimile, etc. For example, an image is expressed by a set of component patterns using bit patterns of divided 4.times.4 bit rectangular blocks, and a codeword train of matched codewords of the component patterns are determined as a block code. In this system, using a four times expanded block process, one block code of the expanded block is determined, then the system expands to determine a partial pattern of three other blocks. A division mark located between the codewords of a codeword train can be abbreviated where a special condition exists between adjacent codewords. Further shortening can be obtained by coding wherein a prediction pattern is obtained and in which only a portion of a real pattern is different from the prediction pattern is encoded. As a result, the 2-valued image information is compressed and the 2-valued image information can be transmitted and processed with a higher efficiency.

Image information code processing system

A color picture image processing system with edge detection for separating a color picture image into pixel data, transmitting vector signals constituting chrominance components of the pixel data in a corresponding relationship with a transmission of scalar signals corresponding to luminance components of the pixel data, and reproducing the color picture image from the transmitted vector signals and scalar signals. The system includes: a calculation processing unit for separating chrominance components of the pixel data constituting the color picture image into lamellar components and vortex components, a lamellar vector analysis connecting unit for generating divergence components representing the lamellar components separated in the calculation processing unit in the form of a differentiation and carrying out edge formation, a vortex vector analysis connecting unit for generating rotation components representing the vortex components separated in the calculation processing unit in the form of a differentiation, and an edge extracting unit for comparing at least one of the output of the lamellar vector analysis connecting unit and the output of the vortex vector analysis connecting unit with a predetermined value and carrying out a detection of an edge of the color picture image based on the result of the comparison.

Color picture image processing system for separating color picture image

A differential pulse code modulation system, in which an input signal is at first approximated to a stepwise waveform having level changes at a constant number n of sampling points selected in the order of level magnitude from a predetermined number N of samples in the input signal. The remainder of the above approximating operation is secondary followed-up by delta modulation, which uses a variable step level controlled in accordance with the variation feature of the remainder. The differential pulse code modulation output is provided by the above two approximating operations.
