A housing has an inner passage to communicate with both a fuel passage, which is to conduct fuel from a fuel pump, and a return passage, which is to return fuel a fuel tank. A valve body is movable in the housing to change a minimum flow passage cross-sectional area of the inner passage. A spring is connected to the valve body and changes its biasing load in correspondence with a fuel temperature to move the valve body. The spring moves the valve body such that the minimum flow passage cross-sectional area, when the fuel temperature is equal to or higher than a predetermined vapor generation temperature, is larger than the minimum flow passage cross-sectional area when the fuel temperature is lower than the vapor generation temperature.

Fuel supply apparatus

A fuel pump module for a vehicle includes a reservoir having a longitudinal axis. An aperture is arranged within a bottom surface of the reservoir. The aperture has a plurality of vanes extending towards a central ring. An umbrella valve having an elongated stem is movably secured within the central ring of the aperture. The elongated stem is movable between a first position completely overlaying the aperture to a second position at a distance from the aperture. A suction filter is located within the reservoir at the bottom surface thereof. The suction filter has an undersurface sized for receipt of the umbrella valve in both the first and second positions.

A fuel feed apparatus includes a sub-tank that is received in the fuel tank and a fuel pump that is received in the sub-tank and pumps fuel in the sub-tank toward the outside of the fuel tank. The sub-tank has a bottom wall that has a first passageway extending in the axial direction of the sub-tank, to which a suction jet pump unit to suction fuel in the fuel tank into the sub-tank can be selectively mounted.
