A video decoding method includes parsing a bitstream to obtain a split mode to transform units (TUs) in a current coding unit (CU). Each of the TUs includes a serial number in a one-to-one correspondence with positions of the TUs in the current CU. A transform coefficient of a luminance transform block of a current TU in the TUs is obtained. A transform type of the luminance transform block of the current TU is obtained based on the split mode and a serial number of the current TU. An inverse transform on the transform coefficient of the luminance transform block of the current TU is performed based on the transform type of the luminance transform block of the current TU to obtain a reconstructed residual of the luminance transform block of the current TU. Intra-frame prediction and decoding methods and apparatuses for image signal

This application provides a video picture prediction method and apparatus, to resolve a problem in a conventional technology that a length of a coded video sequence is increased. The first type of identifier may be added to a bitstream. The first type of identifier is used to indicate whether an affine motion model-based inter prediction mode is enabled for a video picture. For a video picture or a picture block included in the slice for which the affine motion model does not need to be used, a parameter, related to the affine motion model, of the picture block may not need to be transmitted. On a decoder side, during decoding of the picture block, the parameter related to the affine motion model does not need to be parsed. This can reduce load of a decoder, increase a processing speed, and decrease a processing time.

Intra prediction method and apparatus

The present disclosure relates to moving picture processing, and in particular, to cases where non-rectangular partitioning modes are used for inter-prediction in a combination with weighted prediction (WP) for coding fades. Non-rectangular modes refer to those inter-prediction modes, in which case a current block is partitioned/sliced in a non-rectangular way (slices). Such modes may be triangular (TMP) or geometric (GEO) prediction. The aim of the disclosure is to harmonize non-rectangular partitioning modes with WP by way of disabling TMP/GEO when WP is applied. This may be accomplished by checking whether all reference pictures for a current slice are disabled, and if this is the case to disable the slice-level WP for non-rectangular prediction units. Whether the reference pictures are disabled may be determined based on conditions applied on set values, for example, of luma/chroma flags, which refer to the reference pictures.

This application provides a chroma block prediction method and apparatus. The method includes: obtaining chroma values of chroma samples; obtaining, luma values of luma samples corresponding to the chroma samples; obtaining, from the luma values, a first luma set and a second luma set; grouping the chroma values into a first chroma set and a second chroma set; determining a scaling coefficient in a linear model based on an average value of luma values in the first luma set, an average value of luma values in the second luma set, an average value of chroma values in the first chroma set, and an average value of chroma values in the second chroma set; determining, based on the scaling coefficient, an offset factor in the linear model; and determining prediction information of the chroma block based on the scaling coefficient and the offset factor.

Embodiments of this application disclose a picture reconstruction method and apparatus for a video picture. The picture reconstruction method includes: obtaining a prediction mode of a current coding unit, and/or obtaining a prediction partition mode of the current coding unit, where the current coding unit includes a luma coding block and a chroma coding block, and the prediction partition mode is a mode of splitting the current coding unit into prediction blocks or prediction units; obtaining a transform block of the current coding unit based on the prediction partition mode and/or the prediction mode; and generating a reconstructed picture block of the current coding unit based on the transform block. According to the method in the embodiments of this application, video coding efficiency can be improved.

Picture reconstruction method and apparatus

The present disclosure relates to an apparatus, an encoder, a decoder and corresponding methods for prediction refinement with optical flow (PROF) for an affine coded block, in which when a plurality of optical flow decision conditions are fulfilled for the affine coded block, performing a PROF process for a current sub-block of the affine coded block to obtain refined prediction sample values of the current sub-block of the affine coded block. After the sub-block based affine motion compensation is performed, a prediction sample value of the current sample of the current sub-block is refined by adding a delta prediction value.
