A power backup device charging system includes components coupled to a power supply system that is configured to supply power to the components, and a power backup device that is coupled to the components and the power supply system. The power backup device identifies a minimum power requirement for the components and sets a first charging threshold based on the minimum power requirement for the components. The power backup device then sets a second charging threshold that is higher than the first charging threshold and that is lower than a full charge level for the power backup device. In response to a charge level of the power backup device reaching the first charging threshold, the power backup device is charged, and in response to the charge level of the power backup device reaching the second charging threshold, the power backup device is prevented from charging.

A multi-storage device lifecycle management system includes a server computing system having a plurality of devices and an operating system engine. The operating system engine identifies an estimated first device remaining lifetime for a first device, identifies an estimated second device remaining lifetime for a second device, and determines whether a difference between the estimated first device remaining lifetime and the estimated second device remaining lifetime is less than an estimated multi-device minimum end-of-lifetime difference. If so, the computing system distributes workload operations between the first device and the second device in order to cause the difference between the estimated first device remaining lifetime and the estimated second device remaining lifetime to be greater than or equal to the estimated multi-device minimum end-of-lifetime difference.

An adaptor for incorporating a function of an Open Compute Project (OCP) mezzanine card into a storage device includes a framework, a baseboard mounted to the framework and arranged to have the Open Compute Project (OCP) mezzanine card mounted thereon, an adapting part on the baseboard, the adapting part including an insertion slot for receiving a first interface of the OCP mezzanine card, and a connector on the baseboard, the connector configured to connect with the storage device, the baseboard including interconnections between the connector and the adapting part to provide for data exchange between the OCP mezzanine card and the storage device.

A power consumption/power backup-based ride-through system includes a power supply system that is configured to supply power to the one or more components. A power backup device is coupled to the one or more components and the power supply system, and operates to monitor an amount of power provided by the power supply system to the one or more components. Based on the amount of power provided by the power supply system to the one or more components, as well as characteristics of the power backup device in some embodiments, the power backup device determines a ride-through time period for which the power backup device is capable of powering the one or more components. When the power backup device detects a loss of power to the one or more components, it powers the one or more components for the ride-through time period.

A component throttling power backup charging system includes a chassis defining a chassis housing and a chassis air inlet to the chassis housing, at least one component located in the chassis housing and adjacent the chassis air inlet, and a power backup device located opposite the at least one component from the chassis air inlet. The power backup device determines that a charging condition has been satisfied. The power backup device then determines that a temperature of air being provided to the power backup device exceeds a threshold temperature and, in response, transmits a throttling instruction that is configured to cause throttling of the at least one component. The power backup device subsequently determines that the temperature of the air being provided to the power backup device no longer exceeds the threshold temperature and, in response, performs charging operations.

A power converter device health check system includes a circuit that connects a power input to a power output, and that includes a first transistor directly coupled to ground and a capacitor in parallel with the first transistor. A controller device is coupled to the circuit and, during boot operations, prevents first power from being provided to the first transistor via the power input, and turns off the first transistor. While preventing the first power from being provided to the first transistor and with the first transistor turned off, the controller device provides second power to a circuit location in the circuit between the first transistor and the capacitor, and then determines whether a charge of the capacitor is below a threshold charge level. If the capacitor is below the threshold charge level, the controller device transmits a power converter warning message.

The storage comprises a drawer chassis which accommodates disks that are organized among a plurality of rows. The top cover arrangement covers the disks in a foldable manner and comprises: a substrate covering the disks and being flexible; and a plurality of folding parts mounted on the substrate and corresponding to the plurality of the rows; the folding parts being adapted to be at least partially folded to expose at least one row of disks in response to the disks being pulled out of the drawer chassis.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a fixing device for a double-sided heat sink and an associated heat dissipating system. There is exemplarily provided a fixing device for mounting the double-sided heat sink on a carrier. The fixing device comprises: a first holder including a first cylindrically-shaped rod, wherein the first cylindrically-shaped rod can pass through a first cooling portion of the double-sided heat sink and a mounting hole of the carrier to fix the first cooling portion to a first side of the carrier, and the first cylindrically-shaped rod comprises a through-hole extending along a longitudinal direction; and a second holder including a second cylindrically-shaped rod, wherein the second cylindrically-shaped rod can pass through a mounting hole of a second cooling portion of the double-sided heat sink and the through-hole of the first holder, such that the second holder is coupled with the first holder to fix the second cooling portion to a second side of the carrier opposite to the first side.

A connector release assist system includes a first connector that has at least one first connector securing feature that is configured to engage a second connector to secure the second connector to the first connector, and disengage the second connector when a second connector release member on the second connector is actuated. A subsystem is located adjacent the first connector such that the subsystem inhibits access to the second connector release member when the second connector is secured to the first connector. A connector release assist device is located adjacent the first connector, extends past the subsystem, and is configured to actuate the second connector release member. In specific examples, the first connector is an RJ-45 female connector, and the second connector is an RJ-45 male connector.

Techniques provide for a storage drive carrier. The carrier may include a body configured to receive a storage drive, the body having a first length in a first direction, a second length in a second direction, and a third length in a third direction. The third length is below the first length, the first length is below the second length, and the first direction, the second direction, and the third direction are perpendicular to one another. The storage drive carrier may further include a protrusion configured to receive a first circuit board for transmitting data, the protrusion being arranged together with the body in the third direction. The protrusion is positioned within an area delimited by a center line of a face of the body on which the protrusion is provided and sides of the face, the center line bisecting the face and being parallel with the second direction.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a storage device and a method for powering the storage. The storage device is powered by a main power supply and the storage device comprises a processor, a baseboard management controller (BMC), a plurality of disks, a first backup power supply and a second backup power supply. The first backup power supply is at least coupled to the processor, and the second backup power supply is at least coupled to the baseboard management controller. Embodiments of the present disclosure enable flexible spatial arrangement of backup power supplies by arranging a plurality of backup power supplies in the storage device.

Techniques involve providing a chassis and for manufacturing the same. The chassis includes a housing and a partition. The partition is disposed within the housing and adapted to partition a space inside the housing into a first accommodating portion and a second accommodating portion. The partition is configured to be detachably mounted within the housing and a position of the partition in the housing is adjustable, to change respective volumes of the first accommodating portion and the second accommodating portion. In this way, a common chassis for different functional configuration demands is implemented, thereby avoiding the waste of space of the chassis due to changes in the volumes of internal electronic components.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a storage system. The storage system comprises: at least one storage device array enclosure, each of the storage device array enclosure accommodating storage devices, which are arranged in columns and have gaps existing between adjacent storage devices; each storage device array enclosure includes a cap for covering accommodated storage devices; the cap includes vents and windshield bars, such that when the cap is in a closed state, the vents abut against an upper surface of the corresponding storage devices and the windshield bars cover the gaps between adjacent storage devices. The design of the cap in the storage system of the present disclosure can ensure that during the maintenance of the storage devices in the storage device array enclosure, the cooling airflow is capable of passing through the vents of the opened cap and then entering inside of another storage device array enclosure above the maintained storage device array enclosure, so as to effectively improve thermal performance inside the storage device array enclosure.

A card/chassis coupling system includes a chassis defining a chassis housing with a chassis wall defining a card entrance to the chassis housing. The chassis wall engages a securing element on a card to secure it in the chassis housing. A card/chassis release device adjacent the card entrance includes a base in the chassis housing, and a card mover member and securing element release member that are each moveably coupled to the base and to an actuator member extending through the chassis wall. Movement of the actuator member into the chassis housing causes the securing element release member to move relative to the base to engage the securing element on the card and disengage it from the chassis wall, and causes the card mover member to move relative to the base to engage the card and move it through the card entrance and out of the chassis housing.
