The present disclosure generally relates to a multifunctional additive obtained from the reaction of: (a) an intermediate obtained from the reaction of maleic anhydride and a polyoxyalkylene monoamine; and (b) an amine compound comprising a primary amine group and/or a secondary amine group and its use in a variety of applications, including, but not limited to: as a corrosion inhibitor or friction modifier in aqueous and non-aqueous systems; in fuel deposit control agents; as a dispersant in pigment, asphalt and cement compositions; and as a detergent.

Multifunctional additive compounds

A polyetheramine produced from a cyclic amide initiator which is first alkoxylated and then reductively aminated to form the polyetheramine. The polyetheramine of the present disclosure may be used in a variety of applications, such as a raw material in the synthesis of a dispersant for use in an aqueous pigment dispersion or as a fuel additive in a hydrocarbon fuel composition.

The present disclosure generally relates to a friction modifier comprising the reaction product of an organic amine and glycidol and its use in a non-aqueous lubricant composition. The present disclosure provides an aqueous composition comprising a quaternary amine compound neutralized with a polycarboxylic acid. The aqueous composition is particularly useful for inerting clay in cement compositions as well as compatibilzing pigments in pigment dispersions.

The present disclosure provides a pour point dispersant composition comprising an alkoxylated alkyl amine polyester. The pour point depressant composition may optionally be combined with a solvent and added to a hydrocarbon composition to improve the cold-flow properties of the hydrocarbon composition.

The present disclosure provides a non-hydrocarbyl-based alcohol initiated polyetheramine. In particular, the polyetheramine of the present disclosure is produced from a tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol-based initiator which is alkoxylated and then reductively aminated. The polyetheramine of the present disclosure may be used in a variety of applications, such as a raw material in the synthesis of a dispersant for use in an aqueous pigment dispersion.

Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol initialized polyetheramines and uses thereof

The present disclosure provides a method for reducing the aldehyde content in an amine catalyst by treating the amine catalyst with a treating agent selected from a non-cyclic amide substituted with an isocyanate reactive group, a guanidine substituted with an isocyanate reactive group, a polyether amine adducted with a urea compound or a guanidine compound, a free radical scavenger and a mixture thereof. The treated amine catalyst may then be used in the production of polyurethane materials which exhibit reduced aldehyde emissions.

The present disclosure provides a dialkyl carbonate prepared from a methyl branched primary C-Calcohol. The dialkyl carbonate is prepared by transesterifying a reactant dialkyl carbonate with the methyl branched primary C-Calcohol under transesterification reaction conditions. The subsequently produced dialkyl carbonate may be used in various applications, including, but not limited to, in lubricating, cosmetic and textile products and applications.

Methods are described for converting carbohydrates including, e.g., monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides in ionic liquids to value-added chemicals including furans, useful as chemical intermediates and/or feedstocks. Fructose is converted to 5-hydroxylmethylfurfural (HMF) in the presence of metal halide and acid catalysts. Glucose is effectively converted to HMF in the presence of chromium chloride catalysts. Yields of up to about 70% are achieved with low levels of impurities such as levulinic acid.
