A client is configured to control one or more functions of another client remotely via a wireless connection. Enabling control of the one or more functions of another client includes receiving a control command from a first client. The control command indicates a function to be performed by a second client. The control command is transmitted to the second client when a binding status indicates a binding between the first client to the second client.

Function control of a remote client

Calls run through a virtual desktop infrastructure server are enhanced by testing communication network conditions and selecting, based on the test results, a media channel from a set of supported media channels, including a media channel that is routed through the virtual desktop infrastructure server and encapsulated in a protocol for exchanging data for virtual desktop applications and a more direct media channel that uses a network socket pair between a media server and a personal computing device and bypasses the virtual desktop infrastructure server. In some implementations, call data of multiple types and/or from multiple sources are merged into a single virtual channel of the protocol for exchanging data for virtual desktop applications.

Selecting a media channel for transferring media data in a virtual desktop infrastructure

A third party application is used to control a client over a software platform. The third party application sends a control command to a microservice of the software platform. The microservice generates an event socket command based on the control command. The microservice transmits the event socket command to a private branch exchange (PBX) server of the software platform over a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection. The PBX server transmits the event socket command to the client to perform the function based on a binding status that indicates a binding between the third party application and the client.

Third party application control of a client

A call is merged with a virtual meeting to allow an audio-only caller to join the virtual meeting while bypassing one or more security checks configured for the virtual meeting. After the virtual meeting is initiated, a call is established between a phone device of the audio-only caller and a customer endpoint. A request is received from the customer endpoint to join the phone device with a virtual meeting. A channel is opened between the phone device and a web service associated with the virtual meeting. The phone device is then joined to the virtual meeting over the channel. To facilitate a seamless transition from the call to the virtual meeting, the call may be maintained as an audio channel of the virtual meeting for the audio-only caller.

Shared control of a remote client

A system for one-touch split-mode conference access includes a client, a server, a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) device and a telephony server. The client obtains information associated with a conference and transmits the information to the server. The server transmits the information to the VOIP device, which is paired to the client based on a user account. The VOIP device displays a notification based on the received information. The VOIP device obtains an input from the user. The input is based on the notification. The VOIP device transmits call information based on the input to the telephony server. The telephony server initiates the audio component of the conference on the VOIP device.
