An electrical connector includes an insulative housing () defining a passageway () therein, a power contact () received in the passageway and a fastening member () for mating with the power contact. The power contact includes a pair of contacting portions () and a connecting portion () connecting the pair of contacting portions. The pair of contacting portions is essentially parallel to each other and a spacing () is defined therebetween. The connecting portion includes a fastening portion () essentially perpendicular to the pair of contacting portions. The fastening member () is separately made from the power contact to fasten securely to the fastening portion (). Thus, the power contact can be reliably fixed in the insulative housing.

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () defining a passageway (), a contact () received in the passageway and a transfer contact () with one end connected to a cable and the other end connected to the contact. The contact includes a retaining portion () fixed in the passageway, a contact portion () extending forwardly from the retaining portion and a tail portion () extending backwardly from the retaining portion. The transfer contact includes a U-shaped portion () for receiving the tail portion () and a cable connection portion () extending from the U-shaped portion for receiving the cable. The U-shaped portion includes a pair of side walls (). At least one of the side walls () includes an elastic arm () engaging with the tail portion () of the contact for improving fixation force therebetween.

Electrical connector with transfer contact for connecting cable and another contact

An electrical connector includes an elongated insulating housing defining a number of passageways and power terminals received in corresponding passageways. The passageways are arranged side by side along a longitudinal direction of the insulating housing. Each power terminal has a first terminal and a second terminal oppositely arranged beside the first terminal. The first terminal has a first contacting portion, a first fixing portion extending towards the second terminal, and a first connecting portion connecting the first contacting portion and the first fixing portion. The second terminal has a second contacting portion oppositely arranged beside the first contacting portion of the first terminal. A curved intermediate region is formed between the first connecting portion and the first contacting portion of the first terminal. A width of the first fixing portion is larger than a distance between the first contacting portion and the second contacting portion.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector for connecting a cable includes an insulating housing with power contacts and signal contacts received therein, and a power bus bar connecting with one power contact. The insulating housing includes a mating face, a mounting face opposite to the mating face and defines first and second passageways extending therethrough. Each power contact forms a first engaging portion and a first contacting portion. Each signal contact forms a second engaging portion and a second contacting portion. The power bus bar has a main section extending along a first plane, a middle section extending from the main section, and a connecting section extending along a second plane perpendicular to the first plane.

An electrical connector includes an insulating housing, a number of power contacts and a number of signal contacts received in the insulating housing, and a power bus bar electrically and mechanically connecting with one power contact. The insulating housing defines an opening at a rear side thereof, and defines a number of first and second passageways extending therethrough and communicating with the opening. The power contacts are received in corresponding first passageways and the signal contacts are received in corresponding second passageways. Each power contact is composed by a pair of opposite power contact halves. Each power contact half defines a contacting end and an engaging end opposite to the contacting end. A fish-shape slot is defined between the two engaging ends.
