A server rack configured to provide electrical connections with data storage modules upon contact includes a shell and a slide rail module slidably installed on the shell. The shell includes a power supply module. The slide rail module itself is electrically conductive and provided with a cable at each end. The cables are connected with the power supply module and the data storage module, and the data storage module is electrically connected with the power supply module.

Server rack

A server rack includes a shell and a plurality of brackets configured to receive a plurality of data storages. The data storages are electrically connected to the bracket. The shell includes a power supply module configured to provide power to the data storages, and an adapter plate connected with the power supply module through a cable. The bracket is electrically connected to a connecting device. When the bracket is slid in the shell, the connecting device closely contacts the adapter plate to be electrically connected with the adapter plate, and the data storages are thus electrically connected with the power supply module.

A server rack able to maintain electrical connections to its components during replacements includes a shell and brackets for data storage devices. The data storage devices are electrically connected to the bracket. The shell includes a power supply module and a connecting device electrically connected to the power supply module. The connecting device includes a resilient ring and a cable, one end of the cable is secured on the resilient ring, and the other end of the cable is electrically connected to the bracket. When the bracket is slid in the shell, the resilient ring elastically deforms to release cable or take back the slack cable, to maintain the electrical connections at all times.

An electronic device includes an enclosure and a first bracket coupling in the enclosure. The enclosure includes two opposite side walls. The first bracket includes a first shell for mounting a number of hard disk drives and a resilient first latching member. The first shell includes two opposite side plates. Two distal ends of the side plates are rotatably coupled to the side walls of the enclosure. The first latching member is mounted to the distal end of one of the side plate. The first latching member includes a positioning portion abutting against an inner surface of the corresponding side wall, to deform the first latching member.

Electronic device

A hard disk drive (HDD) module includes two cartridges for receiving two HDDs. Each cartridge includes a bottom tray and a top cover adjustably connected to the bottom tray. Each top cover includes a top plate located above the corresponding bottom tray. The cartridges are arranged up and down. The bottom tray of the upper cartridge is fastened to the top cover of the lower cartridge.

Hard disk drive module

A data storage device assembly includes a chassis. The chassis includes a dividing plate. Two brackets are arranged on the dividing plate, and another two brackets are arranged at a bottom of the dividing plate. Each bracket receives a data storage device. The data storage device assembly includes four data storage devices arranged in the chassis, which can provide large capacity of data storage.

Data storage device assembly

A server includes a main board, a side panel having an attached female connector, an expansion card, and a lever. The expansion card includes a latching member having a pivot and a male connector. The lever includes an engaging portion defining a slot, and a main body connected to the engaging portion and pivotally connected to the main board. When the lever is rotated in a first direction, the pivot is slid into the slot, causing the engaging portion to engage with the latching member. Further rotating the lever in the first direction, the expansion card is urged to move toward the side panel until the male connector mate with the female connector. When the lever is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the expansion card is urged to move away from the side panel, causing the male connector to disengage from the female connector.

An exemplary electronic device includes a case, an inner body and a pivotable arm pivotally connected on the inner body by a pivot. The case defines an opening at a first lateral side thereof and a latching hole at a second lateral side thereof adjacent to the opening. The inner body is inserted in the case through the opening. The pivotable arm includes a frame engaged in the latching hole of the case, a latching member pivotally connected to the frame by the pivot, and a resilient member. The latching member includes an inner end and an outer end at opposite sides of the pivot. The outer end of the latching member is engaged in the latching hole. The resilient member abuts against the inner end of the latching member such that the inner end of the latching member biases the inner body.

Electronic device with pivotable arm

A server system includes a number of servers and a server holder. Each server includes two opposite sidewalls with each having a sliding rail formed thereon. The server holder includes two opposite lateral plates and a number of supporting structures. Each lateral plate defines a plurality of rows of receiving holes. Each supporting structure is received in one receiving hole, and includes a supporting block and a torsion spring positioned on the supporting bock. The supporting block is pivotably connected to one of the lateral plates, defines a sliding slot, and includes a resisting surface facing towards interior of the server holder. The sliding rail is slidable along the sliding slot. The torsion spring is configured for providing an elastic force to push the supporting block to keep the resisting surface resisting against one sidewall.

An electronic device includes an enclosure and a motherboard arranged at a middle portion in the enclosure. A first conversion card and a second conversion card are electrically connected to the motherboard. A first expansion card is electrically connected to the first conversion card and above the motherboard. A second expansion card is electrically connected to the second conversion card and below the motherboard.

A server holder includes two opposite lateral plates and a number of supporting structures. Each lateral plate includes a main body, a number of strip-shaped portions protruding outwards from the main body, and a number of upper connecting portions. Each upper connecting portion connects a top end of one strip-shaped portion to the main body. Each strip-shaped portion and an adjacent upper connecting portion cooperatively define a number of T-shaped latching grooves running through the strip-shaped portion and the upper connecting portion. Each supporting structure includes a fixing strip, a supporting strip, and a number of T-shaped latching protrusions. The fixing strip is attached to the inner surface of the strip-shaped portion. The supporting strip connects to a side of the fixing strip for supporting a server. The T-shaped latching protrusions extend upwards from the fixing strip. Each T-shaped latching protrusion is latched in the T-shaped latching groove.

Server holder and server system

A data storage device is inserted in an information handling apparatus, and is prevented from being accidently disconnecting from the information handling apparatus by an locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes a frame receiving the data storage device, and a retainer mounted to the frame, and comprising two resilient arms extending out of the frame to be correspondingly secured in two retaining holes defined in the information handling apparatus.

Locking mechanism and information handling system using the same

An expansion card has at least one connector electrically coupled with at least one expansion slot of a server, and includes a shell defining at least one through slot, a main body, and a transmission element received in the shell. The transmission element includes a locating element, a connecting pole, and a fixing shaft. The connecting pole includes a head portion and a tail portion. The head portion defines a notch sleeving on the locating element. The tail portion extends outwards from the shell and defines a first hole. The fixing shaft is fixed on the shell and extends through the first hole. When the tail portion is pushed, the connecting pole rotates around the fixing shaft, the head portion drives the at least one connector to extends outwards or inwards from the at least one through slot, to electrically connected or disconnected to the at least one expansion slot.

Expansion card

A slide rail assembly includes a first rail, a second rail slidably received in the first rail, a mounting bracket fixed to the second rail, a positioning member movably mounted to the mounting bracket, and a releasing member slidably mounted to the second rail. The first rail includes a holding portion. The positioning member engages with the holding portion to prevent the second rail from sliding into or out of the first rail. By sliding the releasing member, the releasing member drives the positioning member to disengage from the holding portion of the first rail, thereby enabling the second rail to slide into or out of the first rail.
