The present disclosure provides a radar apparatus including: an antenna including a first transmitting antenna, a second transmitting antenna, and a receiving antenna; a transmitter including a first modulator for generating a first transmission signal having an inverted phase of a source signal and transmitting the first transmission signal through the first transmitting antenna, and a second modulator for generating a second transmission signal having a shifted phase of the source signal and transmitting the second transmission signal through the second transmitting antenna; a receiver for receiving a reflection signal of the first transmission signal and the second transmission signal reflected from the object through the receiving antenna; and a controller for obtaining information for the object based on the reflection signal. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to efficiently detect the object using the antenna having a simple structure.

Provided are a structure and alignment method of array antennas for a vehicle radar, the structure and method being able to adjust the locations, number of channels, number of arrays, and channel distance according to the type of antennas, so as to minimize a space occupied by the antennas while maintaining the radiation efficiency of the antennas. Even in a case in which conditions regarding the location of the array antennas and the number of channels are changed within designated ranges, the efficient array antenna structure minimizes the area of array antennas for a vehicle while maintaining the detection ability of the array antennas.

The disclosure relates to a radar device for a vehicle, enabling to determine a target satisfying a pairing condition for finding an intersection point by using a combination of a pair of up-chirp and down-chirp signals with an added down-chirp signal, without an additional hardware resource. The present invention relates to a radar device for a vehicle which may determine a target as a single target or multiple targets according to a dispersion level of a slope for each reception channel, calculated through a phase difference for each reception channel of a reflection signal and an arrangement interval for each reception channel, and estimate the angle of the target so as to acquire the angle of the target using a small amount of calculations, and a method for estimating the angle of a target using the same. An embodiment of the present invention provides a radar device for a vehicle, which detects a target located in the front side of a vehicle, comprising an electronic control unit configured to: calculate the slope of a reflection signal received for each reception channel, using a phase difference for each reception channel of the reflection signal and an arrangement interval for each reception channel, wherein the reflection signal is obtained by transmitting a predetermined transmission signal and receiving the transmitted transmission signal which is reflected back from the target; and determine the target as a single target or multiple targets according to a dispersion level of the calculated slope so as to estimate the angle to the determined target.

Radar device for vehicle and method for estimating angle of target using same

The present embodiments relate to a radar signal processing apparatus and a signal processing method thereof in which an additional beamforming is performed by reflecting an angle of a target that is positioned in front of the vehicle or by reflecting a surrounding clutter situation thereof in order to thereby improve the performance of detecting the target in front of the vehicle. According to an embodiment, a radar signal processing apparatus may include: a transmitting unit configured to transmit radar signals forward from the vehicle; a receiving unit configured to receive reflected signals among the radar signals transmitted by the transmitting unit; and a signal processing unit configured to extract a target in front of the vehicle based on the signals received by the receiving unit, wherein the receiving unit receives the radar signals by using an antenna array including a plurality of receiving antennas, the signal processing unit integrates the signals received by the plurality of receiving antennas to perform the beamforming for obtaining a desired gain, and, if there is no target in the formed beams, determines the angle of the target in front of the vehicle in order to thereby perform the additional beamforming to match the determined target angle.

The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for detecting a target object by a radar device for a vehicle. The method includes recognizing the situation that causes the deterioration in the function of a radar, and preventing the performance from deterioration through a signal processing technology. The apparatus includes: a signal transmitting unit that transmits a transmission signal for detecting a target object; a signal receiving unit that receives a reception signal generated by a reflection of the transmission signal; a signal analyzing unit that calculates frequency spectrum information of the reception signal, and extracts periodicity information for determining a periodicity of the frequency spectrum information; a determining unit that determines whether a clutter structure exists; and a target detecting unit that detects a target object by deleting a peak value component of the periodicity information when it is determined that the clutter structure exists.

The disclosure relates to a radar device for a vehicle, enabling distance and velocity of a target approaching at a high speed in a short distance to be measured while securing a detection performance of the target. The present invention relates to an apparatus for estimating an arrival-angle of a reception signal and a beam-forming apparatus in a radio wave receiver, such as radar.
