A display device includes: scan lines extending in a first direction; first data lines, second data lines, and third data lines extending in a second direction; a first driving unit connected to the scan lines and the first data lines; a first light emitting unit connected to the first driving unit; a second driving unit connected to the scan lines and the second data lines; a second light emitting unit connected to the second driving unit; a third driving unit connected to the scan lines and the second data lines; and a third light emitting unit connected to the third driving unit. The first light emitting unit overlaps the second driving unit or the third driving unit, the second light emitting unit overlaps the first driving unit or the third driving unit, and the third light emitting unit overlaps the first driving unit or the second driving unit.

Display device

A display device includes a display panel, a data driving circuit, a scan driving circuit, and a driving controller. The driving controller receives an image signal and a control signal and controls the data and scan driving circuits to display an image on the display panel. The driving controller divides the display panel into first and second display regions based on the image signal, and outputs start and masking signals indicating starts of one frame and the second display region, respectively. First and second frames have first and second durations, respectively. The scan driving circuit sequentially drives scan lines in synchronization with the start signal and stop the driving of scan lines, corresponding to the second display region, of the scan lines, in response to the masking signal.

A scan driving circuit includes: a driving circuit configured to output a scan signal to an output terminal in response to clock signals and a carry signal; and a masking circuit configured to stop the driving circuit from outputting the scan signal in response to a masking signal and a signal indicating an operating state of the driving circuit.

Scan driving circuit and display device including the same

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels respectively connected to corresponding data lines and respectively connected to corresponding scan lines, a data driving circuit for driving the corresponding data lines, a scan driving circuit for driving the corresponding scan lines, and a driving controller for, during a multi-frequency mode, dividing the display panel into a first display area and a second display area and controlling the data driving circuit and the scan driving circuit so that the first display area is driven at a first driving frequency, and the second display area is driven at a second driving frequency lower than the first driving frequency. During the multi-frequency mode, the driving controller divides the second display area into a plurality of blocks and alternately drives the plurality of blocks every frame.

A display device includes a display panel which displays an image during a plurality of driving frames, a panel driver which drives the display panel, and a driving controller which controls a driving operation of the panel driver. The driving controller divides the display panel into a first display area and a second display area based on an image signal. Each of the plurality of driving frames includes a full frame in which the first display area and the second display area are driven, and a plurality of partial frames in which only the first display area is driven. A number of the plurality of partial frames included in each of the plurality of driving frames is changed.

A scan driving circuit of a display device includes a first output terminal electrically connected to a first scan line, a second output terminal electrically connected to a second scan line, a first masking circuit electrically connecting the first output terminal and the second output terminal and outputting, as a first scan signal, a second scan signal to the first output terminal, a driving circuit outputting the second scan signal to the second output terminal in response to clock signals and a carry signal, and a second masking circuit masking the second scan signal to a predetermined level in response to the second masking signal, wherein the first masking circuit electrically disconnects the first output terminal from the second output terminal in response to a first masking signal.

A scan driver includes: a plurality of stages, each stage including: a logic circuit configured to transfer an input signal to a first node in response to a first clock signal, and to bootstrap the first node in response to a second clock signal; a carry output circuit configured to output the second clock signal as a carry signal that is provided as the input signal for a next stage in response to a voltage of the bootstrapped first node; and a masking controller configured to receive a masking signal and the carry signal, and to output the masking signal as a scan signal provided to a pixel row corresponding to the each stage in response to the carry signal.

Scan driver and display device

A display panel includes a plurality of first pixel parts disposed in a first row, a plurality of second pixel parts disposed in a second row and including a first pixel part that includes a first pixel circuit and a first light emitting element which are electrically separated from each other, and a second pixel part that includes a second pixel circuit and a second light emitting element which are electrically separated from each other. The first light emitting element of the first pixel part is electrically connected to the second pixel circuit of the second pixel part.

A display apparatus includes: a first display area, a second display area, a first back gate signal applying line connected to back gate electrodes of pixels in the first display area and a second back gate signal applying line connected to back gate electrodes of pixels in the second display area; a back gate signal generator configured to generate a first back gate signal applied to the back gate electrodes of the pixels in the first display area and a second back gate signal applied to the back gate electrodes of the pixels in the second display area; a gate driver configured to output a gate signal; a data driver configured to output a data voltage; and a driving controller configured to control a driving timing, wherein the driving controller, the data driver and the back gate signal generator form an integrated driver.

Display apparatus including first and second back gate signal applying lines and method of driving the same

A display device includes four pixel arrays, a data driver, and a demultiplexer. The data driver is electrically connected to first and second data output lines. The demultiplexer electrically connects first and second data lines to the first data output line and electrically connects third and fourth data lines to the second data output line. The first to fourth pixel arrays are adjacent to the first to fourth data lines, respectively. Each of the first to fourth pixel arrays includes first and second color pixels. The first color pixels in the second pixel array are connected to the second data line, the second color pixels in the second pixel array are connected to the third data line, the second color pixels in the third pixel array are connected to the third data line, and the first color pixels in the third pixel array are connected to the second data line.

Display device having a plurlity of pixel arrays connected to different data lines

A display apparatus includes a display panel and a display driver. The display panel has a first pixel structure. The display driver is configured to receive input image data including first data, and generate a driving signal for driving the display panel based on conversion data. The display driver includes a converter configured to convert the first data into the conversion data. The conversion data include conversion data in N rows and M columns. Each of (2K−1)-th column conversion data include first color conversion data representing a first color and second color conversion data representing a second color. Each of 2K-th column conversion data include third color conversion data representing a third color and fourth color conversion data representing the second color. N, M and K are positive integers.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device, which is a slidable display device, includes a display panel and a data driver. The display panel includes a first display area, a second display area that is in one of a taken-in position and a taken-out-of position of the display device, and a pad area located on one side of the first display area. The display panel includes pixels disposed in the first and second display areas, and is driven in a first mode in which an image is displayed in the first display area or a second mode in which an image is displayed in the first and second display areas. The data driver generates data voltages based on pixel data, outputs the data voltages to the pixels, and controls an order of the data voltages output in the second mode.

Display device and method of driving display device

A driving controller divides a display panel into first and second display areas according to an operation mode, outputs a start signal indicating a start of one frame and a masking signal for indicating a start of the second display area, sets a basic driving frequency to a normal frequency when the operation mode is a normal frequency mode, sets the basic driving frequency to a frequency lower than the normal frequency when the operation mode is a multi-frequency mode, and outputs the start signal and the masking signal. The first display area operates at a first driving frequency and the second display area operates at a second driving frequency, and the scan driving circuit sequentially drives scan lines in synchronization with the start signal, and stops, in response to the masking signal, driving of some of the scan lines corresponding to the second display area.
