An air conditioner including: a housing having a discharge port and a plurality of holes; a door capable of closing the discharge port; a heat exchanger provided in the housing; a compressor connected to the heat exchanger so as to circulate a refrigerant so that same passes through the heat exchanger; a fan for blowing air so that the air passes through the heat exchanger and is discharged through the discharge port and at least one of the plurality of holes. The air conditioner includes a humidity sensor provided inside the housing so as to sense the humidity of the air having passed through the heat exchanger; and a control unit for controlling the door so as to open or close the discharge port and rotating the fan, on the basis of the humidity sensed by the humidity sensor when the compressor has been stopped.

Air conditioner and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner includes a cabinet including an inlet port and a frame including an outlet port and coupled to the cabinet. A heat exchanger is disposed between the cabinet and the frame to exchange heat with air introduced into the inlet port and discharged to the outlet port. A blocking member is configured to connect the frame and the heat exchanger to prevent air heat-exchanged with the heat exchanger from leaking into the cabinet. This structure inhibits dew from being generated on the cabinet.

An air conditioner including an opening and closing apparatus configured to open/close a discharge port for discharging air into an indoor space, the opening and closing apparatus includes a plurality of covers provided with a guide unit, a guide plate provided with a spiral guide hole alternately formed with a guide hole having a first section and a second section, and a rail plate extended in a radial direction and having a plurality of rails through which the guide unit is inserted. When the guide plate is rotated, the plurality of covers are moved in a radial direction while having a time interval with respect to the adjacent cover as to open/close the discharge port.

An indoor unit of an air conditioner has an improved discharge structure of air. The indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a panel which defines an external appearance thereof and has an opening, a mixed flow fan which is located within the panel, a heat exchanger unit which is located rearward of the mixed flow fan, an inlet port which is located rearward of the heat exchanger unit so that air is suctioned from rearward of the heat exchanger unit to be introduced into the mixed flow fan, an outlet port which is exposed forward of the panel through the opening so that the air passing though the mixed flow fan is discharged through a front portion of the panel, and a plurality of circular louvers to open and close the outlet port by moving outwards from a center of the outlet port.

Indoor unit of air conditioner and method of controlling the same

An indoor unit of an air conditioner having improved structures of suction, discharge and/or flow passages which may increase operation efficiency, reduce noises and realize a compact size. The indoor unit includes a housing comprising a front panel and a rear panel coupled to a rear portion of the front panel, at least one discharge outlet exposed to a front of the front panel, at least one suction inlet formed in the rear panel at a position corresponding to the discharge outlet, at least one heat exchanger disposed at a front portion of the suction inlet to absorb heat from air introduced through the suction inlet or transfer heat to the air introduced through the suction inlet, and at least one diagonal flow fan disposed between the heat exchanger and the discharge outlet to suction air passing through the heat exchanger and discharge the air through the discharge outlet.
