In an example, columns in a data table may be categorized according to a data type based upon an analysis of data elements contained in each column with a grammar file. The data type of a column be may be categorized as one of a general data type and a specific data type. In addition, the grammar file may be expanded by at least one of adding a data element to the grammar file in response to a column being categorized as a specific data type and inserting a new data type to the grammar file in response to a column being categorized as a general data type.

A method for detecting printing defects includes, with a physical computing system, creating a matched reference image from a digital image, colors of said matched reference image being closer matched to a scanned image of said digital image. The method further includes, with said physical computing system, determining a color difference between corresponding points on said matched reference image and said scanned image; and with said physical computing system, identifying points that have said color distance greater than a predefined threshold as potential defects.

Detecting printing effects

Techniques for correcting the color uniformity of a laser printer of a digital press or other device are provided. A process for correcting the color uniformity of a laser printer may include scanning a test page by an inline scanner of a digital press, determining scanner signal data from the test page, determining a scanner polynomial fitted to the scanner signal data, and determining a non-uniform coverage polynomial from the scanner polynomial. Additionally, techniques for verifying the linearity of a scanner are also provided.

Color uniformity correction using a scanner

Specific print defect detection

A computer implemented method is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a first and second images for comparison, globally registering the first and second images, calculating for pairs of a first patch of the first image and second patch of the second image a similarity measure which is a product of luminance and contrast components and a normalized structure component, each component taking a value between 0 and 1 and determining similarity of the images based on the calculated similarity measure. Determining similarity of two images

A method for estimating three-dimensional structure from a two-dimensional image () includes obtaining first and second vanishing points (); comparing image patches () along first and second virtual lines () extending from the first and second vanishing points (), respectively, and through a pixel; generating values for each of the first and second virtual lines () based on the comparison of the image patches (); accumulating the values for each the pixel in the two-dimensional image (); and determining a corner pixel () based on a highest of the accumulated values.

Estimating 3D structure from a 2D image

A digital image is processed to provide an estimation of the position in the image plane of a vanishing point. The processing includes detecting pairs of similar image patches and identifying a concurrent set of straight virtual lines that substantially converge at a point on the image plane, each line passing through a pair of similar image patches within the image.
