Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method of performing a simulation of a medical procedure. A physical model of an anatomical structure and of a medical tool may be provided. 3D digital models of the anatomical structure and medical tool may be provided. A location parameter related to a location of the physical medical tool with respect to the physical model of the anatomical structure may be received. The 3D models of the anatomical structure and medical tool may be manipulated according to the location parameter.

System and method for performing a hybrid simulation of a medical procedure

A system for simulating an image-guided medical procedure on a computerized anatomy is provided. The system includes a foldable base having two portions connected by a hinged connector, each portion of the foldable base is provided with one or more docking stations. The system further includes two or more working units, each connectable to any one of the docking stations. Each working unit comprises a chamber capable of receiving an operation tool, a diameter sensor to detect diameter information related to the operational tool and a tracking unit configured to detect tracking information related to the operational tool.

Medical simulation system

A system for simulating a medical procedure performed on a subject, featuring: (a) a simulated organ; (b) a simulated instrument for performing the medical procedure on the simulated organ; (c) a locator for determining a location of the simulated instrument within the simulated organ; and (d) a visual display for displaying images from the medical procedure, such that the images simulate visual data received during the medical procedure as performed on an actual subject, the visual display including: (i) a three-dimensional model of the simulated organ, the model being divided into a plurality of segments; (ii) a loader for selecting at least one of the plurality of segments for display, the at least one of the plurality of segments being selected according to the location of the simulated instrument within the simulated organ; (iii) a controller for selecting each image from the selected segment according to the location of the simulated instrument; and (iv) a displayer for displaying the image according to the controller.
