A flat keyboard arrangement includes a color of blocks. Each block corresponds to a key unit and is liquid crystal display having a screen divided into a number capable of producing any natural color. A table is provided for storing color data of the blocks, and for storing function data representing the function assigned to blocks. A driver circuit is provided for driving the color liquid crystal display to illuminate one or more colors in accordance with the data stored in the table. A transparent touch switch arrangement is placed on the color liquid crystal display. The transparent touch switch arrangement has transparent sheet in which a plurality of transparent touch switches are located correspondingly to the blocks of the screen to define touch keys.

Flat keyboard arrangement

A cash accounting system which includes a cash register for registering transactions of money and a cash dispenser coupled with the cash register for dispensing an amount of money required to be paid out during the respective transactions. Each of the cash register and the cash dispenser includes a memory. The memory in the cash register is used to memorize the current stock of money of different denominations which can be manually paid out, whereas the memory in the cash dispenser is used to memorize the current stock of money of different denomination which can be paid out through the cash dispenser.

Cash accounting system

This disclosure is directed to an improved cash accounting system which includes a cash register for registering various money transaction information, and a cash dispenser for paying out money in the form of bills and/or coins corresponding to sum of money to be paid out resulting from various transaction registration, with the cash register being electrically couple to the cash dispenser. The cash accounting system is arranged to judge whether or not the cash dispenser corresponds to paying-out of specific money based on length of data fed from the cash dispenser to the cash register.

A cash accounting system comprises a manual handling instruction unit for instructing the manual handling of some denominations and sub-amounts of the payment money-amount. A storing unit stores the denominations, sub-amounts, etc. instructed to be manually handled by the instruction unit, a controlling unit for paying out, by the money paying-out apparatus, the remaining payment amount of the money amount instructed to be manually handled by the manual handling instruction unit. As the payment by the money paying-out apparatus and the payment by the manual operation can be performed in combination within one transaction registration, time required for the money amount, including the new bill, to be paid out is rendered shorter and transaction error is prevented from being caused.

A cash accounting system registers and stores information relating to money transacted according to the denomination thereof, and has a data compiling capability. This system is operable during a checking operation to compile the amount of money registered according to denomination thereof, and to provide information related to numbers of units, and fractions thereof, of money in each denomination. The units of the respective denominations comprise predetermined amounts of money in each denomination.

A print control system includes an order detection circuit for detecting an effective digit number of numeral information. A converter ROM is provided for developing a character pattern code signal in response to the numeral information and the order information thereof. A dot matrix printer responds to the character pattern code signal so as to print the numeral information through the use of, for example, alphabetical or kana characters derived from Chinese characters.

A teller machine includes numeral keys, function keys, a central processor unit, and a printer for printing out transaction data onto a desired bill. A preset ability is employed by the teller machine so that a bill issuance number is limited at operator's choice, the print out operation is conducted only when preselected function keys are operated, and only preselected function keys are made effective.

An electronic cash register functions to accumulate the transaction data registered into the electronic cash register in the clerk by clerk fashion. A preset system is provided for presetting a desired share percentage for each of the clerks, and the preset share percentage is memorized in a share percentage memory. When the read out mode operation is conducted, the turnover data is printed out onto a read slip in the clerk by clerk fashion. In the read out mode operation, the share percentage is read out from the share percentage memory in order to automatically obtain the share of the clerk through the use of the memorized share percentage and the accumulated turnover data.

A teller machine is capable of modifying information stored within a secondary memory when the operator realizes a mistake even after he has completed transactions and placed information with respect to these transactions into the secondary memory. In the teller machine, a primary memory stores numerical information representative of amounts of money after each transaction and a secondary memory stores cumulative amounts of money for all transactions.

An electronic cash register includes a predetermined money key for introducing desired money amount data having plural digits into the electronic cash register by a single actuation of the predetermined money amount key. A preset system is provided for assigning a desired money amount to the predetermined money amount key. The preset system includes a memory system connected to the predetermined money amount key for storing a desired numeral data of plural digits. When the predetermined money amount key is actuated in the normal registration mode, the numeral data stored in the memory system is applied to the central processor unit as an input data.

Money preset in an electronic cash register

An electronic cash register electrically communicates with an electronic weighing scale. An interface circuit is included in the electronic cash register for introducing weight information data from the electronic weighing scale into the electronic cash register. An abnormal condition detection system is included in the electronic cash register for detecting an abnormal condition occurring within the electronic weighing scale. The electronic cash register includes a synthetic speech sound generation system for audibly informing an operator of the abnormal condition detected by the abnormal condition detection system.

An electronic cash register includes a PLU (Price-look-up) function, wherein merchandise information such as a unit cost, taxation information and classification information is preset for each commodity by an operator. For presetting the PLU code information, a 'PLU' key is actuated for automatically developing a PLU code signal in a progressive order. A synthetic speech sound generation system is provided for first generating a synthetic speech respresentation of 'PLU number one'. Then, the synthetic speech sound generation system provides a synthetic speech representation of 'unit cost' for audibly instructing an operator to introduce the unit cost information. Thereafter, synthetic speech representation of 'taxation' and 'classification' are provided to audibly instruct the operator of a required key operation, thereby facilitating the preset operation of the PLU code information.

PLU-Code controlled electronic cash register

An electronic cash register includes a transaction data memory having 24 (twenty-four) memory sections each of which is assigned to store the transaction amount registered in a preselected one hour. A selection system is associated with each of the memory sections for selecting a desired memory section in the transaction data memory. The transaction data stored in the selected memory section is applied to a printer system, whereby the transaction data stored in the selected memory section is printed onto a journal paper and/or a receipt slip for administration purposes.

Selective read out of one hour transaction data in an electronic cash

An electronic cash register includes a printer system for printing out a transaction data on a receipt bill or a journal paper. A print preset system is provided for selectively printing out the transaction data. A print inhibition preset key develops a print inhibition command which is stored at the last bit of a memory address of the corresponding transaction data. In a normal registration operation mode, a signal detection circuit functions to detect the print inhibition command stored in the last bit. When the print inhibition command is detected, the signal detection circuit functions to preclude the transaction data stored in the corresponding memory address from being transferred to the printer system.

Data print control in an electronic cash register

A read operation control system is included in an electronic cash register for checking purposes. The actual read operation is not conducted until the operator introduces numeral data indicating the cash amount contained in a drawer case of the electronic cash register. The thus introduced numeral data is compared with accumulated data stored in a memory section of the electronic cash register, the accumulated data representing the total cash amount registered into the electronic cash register. The difference between the introduced numeral data and the accumulated data is calculated, and the calculation result is printed out onto a check list.
