According to one aspect of the present invention, a secondary battery has a bent part disposed on an end of an upper portion of the battery can. The bent part is bent inward toward a top cap to fix the top cap. The secondary battery is configured such that, when an internal pressure of the battery can exceeds a predetermined value, a region (R) in which the top cap and the bent part overlap each other when viewed from above is reduced by deformation of the top cap or the bent part to allow an entire region of the top cap to become spaced further from the battery can.

A secondary battery may include: an electrode assembly in which first and second electrode sheets are stacked and wound with a separation sheet interposed therebetween, wherein a first electrode tab protrudes in the first electrode sheet, and a second electrode tab protrudes in the second electrode sheet; a battery can to accommodate the electrode assembly therein; and a connection part above or below the electrode assembly and facing the electrode assembly, wherein the connection part has a first area made of an electrically conductive gel material; and a second area attached to the first area and made of an electrically insulating material, wherein the second area forms at least a portion of a top surface of the connection part, and at least a portion of the first electrode tab or the second electrode tab is inserted into the first area of the connection part.

Secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same

A secondary battery according to the present invention, in which an electrode assembly is built in a cylindrical can, a top cap connected to a positive electrode of the electrode assembly is coupled to an upper end of the can, and the can is connected to a negative electrode. The secondary battery includes a cooling member which receives heat generated in the electrode assembly to release the heat and is coupled to a lower portion of the can, wherein the cooling member has a plurality of cooling pins disposed parallel to each other.

A method for manufacturing a secondary battery is provided, the method including a first step of providing a top cap and a safety vent, a second step of bending an end portion of the safety vent upward, and a third step of inserting the top cap inside the safety vent. An outer diameter A of the top cap is greater than an inner diameter B of the safety vent between the second step and the third step. A secondary battery is also provided.

A cylindrical secondary battery includes a jelly-roll type electrode assembly, a cylindrical battery case for receiving the jelly-roll type electrode assembly, and a cap assembly mounted to the open upper end of the cylindrical battery case. The jelly-roll type electrode assembly includes a long sheet type positive electrode and a long sheet type negative electrode wound with a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. A welding pole is formed on the bottom surface of the cylindrical battery case so as to extend perpendicularly thereto.

The present disclosure provides a cylinder type battery cell manufacturing apparatus which is an apparatus configured to form a crimping portion on a cap assembly coupling portion of a cylinder type battery cell, the manufacturing apparatus including: a primary crimping mold configured to apply a primary pressure so that an open upper end portion of a cylinder type metal can forms an inclination inclined to a central axis of the metal can on a vertical section in a state in which a cap assembly is coupled to the open upper portion of the cylinder type metal can; and a secondary crimping mold configured to apply a secondary pressure to the open upper end portion in which the inclination is formed so that a flat section parallel to a lower surface of the metal can is formed in the crimping portion.
