A vibratory screen for a vibratory screening machine consisting of a plate having a plurality of spaced openings therein, a coarse screen located in contiguous relationship to the plate, a fine screen on top of the coarse screen, a finer screen on top of the fine screen, and a topmost screen which is less fine than the finer screen and epoxy binding all of the foregoing screens to the plate at the borders of the openings. A vibratory screening machine having a tank for receiving a liquid-solid mixture, a plurality of screens of the foregoing type mounted to produce a sealed partition in the tank, an inlet conduit for supplying a liquid-solid mixture to the screens at a rate to maintain a head of the liquid-solid mixture above the screens, a vibratory motor attached to the tank to vibrate the tank, an outlet in the tank below the screens, and a liquid trap located at the outlet to thereby prevent air from entering the chamber in the tank below the screens and to draw a slight vacuum in the chamber. A screening machine assembly consisting of a first machine of the foregoing type at a higher elevation and a second machine of the foregoing type at a lower elevation for receiving a liquid-solid mixture from the trap of the first machine, the second machine also having a trap associated therewith which functions in the same manner as the trap of the first machine.

Vibratory screening machine and non-clogging wear-reducing screen

A flow divider of the type here involved consists of a cylindrical tank having a tangential inlet near the top and a plurality of tangential outlets near the bottom. The tangential inlet produces a swirling or cyclonic action but solid material entrained or suspended in the liquid does not remain uniformly distributed in the liquid and thus the several outlets do not contain uniform quantities of solid material. The present disclosure provides an annular internal flange between the inlet and outlet passages which produces turbulence in the liquid adjacent to the wall of the tank which results in uniform solid material concentrations at the several outlets.

Flow divider

Vibrating screen apparatus wherein high screening output is achieved by providing a series of inclined screens in generally end to end relation whereby undersize material passing through the screens is received in a common hopper disposed beneath the screens. The oversize material falls from the lower end of each screen and guide means thereat directs the oversize material from the several screens into a common conduit extending longitudinally beneath the screens to conduct the oversize material from the apparatus. A splitter above the apparatus divides the input material into equal parts corresponding to the number of screens and discharges such parts onto the upper ends of the several screens.

Multiple screen apparatus

A vibratory screening apparatus has a pair of screen cloths in close face to face abutment with the wires of the lower screen cloth generally intersecting the openings of the upper screen cloth to prevent 'blinding' of the upper screen cloth by reason of the tendency of the wires of the lower screen cloth to prevent engagement of particles in the upper screen cloth of a size which would tend to clog the openings of the upper screen cloth. The mesh size of the lower screen cloth may be equal to the mesh size of the upper screen cloth or slightly larger than the upper screen cloth openings up to about 50 per cent larger. The superposed screen cloths may rest upon a much coarser mesh screen which serves merely as a structural support for the screen cloths and does not perform a screening function.
