Safety round

A firearm safety round configured to function as a safety round for the following firearms: SAR 21&#x2014;Singapore Assault Rifle-21st Century and M-rifle. The safety round includes a cylindrical rear end having a rim, a mid-section adjacent the rear end opposite the rim, the mid-section comprises a truncated cylinder having opposite flat sides, a tab extending outwardly from the mid-section and configured so that when the safety round is received by the firing chamber, the tab will extend out of the firing chamber to visually indicate that the firing chamber of the firearm is free of live ammunition and a cylindrical nose portion extending from the mid-section, opposite from the rear end and longitudinally aligned therewith. When the safety round is installed in the firing chamber of the firearm, one of the flat sides rests on the firing chamber and positions the rim in alignment with the extractor, and the flat sides configure the mid-section so that a largest dimension of the mid-section is smaller than a height of the extraction port of the firearm.

A combination firearm safety round that is configured to have tool features compatible for performing maintenance on the firearm. The safety round includes a cylindrical body portion having a small diameter extension having a substantially flat distal end, such that the extension is suitable as a tool for field stripping and maintenance of the firearm.

Combination safety round and multi-tool

A safety plug for the firing chamber of a firearm provides a visual indication of its presence within the firing chamber (thereby preventing accidental discharges). The safety plug is shaped similar to an ammunition cartridge commonly used in the firearm. A tab extends outwardly from the safety plug through the breech to provide visible confirmation of its presence in the firing chamber. The tab includes a luminescent element to enhance visual confirmation in low light conditions. A beveled rim is engaged by an extractor to remove the safety plug from the firing chamber without catching on a top round of ammunition loaded in the firearm's magazine. An annular lip and a collet are formed at the forward end of the safety plug for use in certain types of firearms, such as a pump-action shotgun, to prevent the safety plug from falling out of the firing chamber or jamming.
