A payload stabilizer and methods for stabilizing a payload suitable for use with video camera payloads. The support and stabilizing apparatus has a gimbal having two or more mutually perpendicular axes about which motion is generated by at least two of a pan motor, a tilt motor and a roll motor wherein the pan motor is integral to the gimbal handle and surrounds the main post. The stabilizer has a feedback system providing supplemental torques to the payload through a gimbal.

Actively stabilized payload support apparatus and methods

The invention includes a payload stage with tilt head, a monitor mount and a payload plate clamping mechanism, individually, and incorporated into a camera stabilizer. The tilt head provides a curved and a straight slot each having a pivot pin disposed therein. The pivot pins are at a fixed distance from one another and thus the stage tilts as the pivot progresses with respect to the straight slot. The monitor mount provides inserts to accommodate central posts of different sizes, each designed to be axially registered to the posts and the monitor mount.

A payload stabilizer suitable for use with video camera payloads. The stabilizer has a feedback system providing supplemental torques to the payload through a gimbal while remaining responsive to direct operator control.

Universal camera mount

A camera stabilizer having a camera mount for attaching and positioning a camera, a gimbal component disposed below the camera mount and positioned at or near the center of gravity and a balancing arm. A handle is offset from a line through the center of gravity of the stabilizer plus camera. Adjustable weights are provided in a balancing arm to vary the center of gravity location.

Camera stabilizer

A folding, adjustable camera support having a central post secured in one or more central post holders. A first camera equipment support component having a distal end and a proximate end is adjustably attached at its proximate end to one of the one or more central post holders, and is configured to adjust between an operative position and a folded position via an adjustment mechanism. The distance of the camera equipment is adjustable radially from the central post. A second camera equipment support component is similarly configured and adjustable with respect to the central post, and can balance the first camera equipment component.

Folding camera support with rotational inertia adjustment

A folding hinge for camera stabilization equipment. The hinge includes support connectors having apertures through which cables may be passed to connect a camera with various auxiliary components. An indexing guide pivotally attaches the support connectors so the camera stabilization system can be folded and unfolded with little or no disruption of the cables pr system balance. Locking mechanisms secure the hinges to provide a desired angular relationship between support members connected by the hinge.
