Polyamide resins are disclosed of polymeric fat acids or certain dicarboxylic acids derived from a fatty acid and a bis(aminomethyl)tricyclodecane. Copolymerized acids or diamine or amino acids may be present. Because of the greater rigidity of some of the resins in addition to the other desirable properties of the polymeric fat acid polyamides, more application areas are opened such as the injection molded or extruded structural parts and components in addition to their utility as adhesives.

Polyamide from bis(aminomethyl)tricyclodecane

Fatty, segmented polyester elastomers are provided which are prepared from a mixture having a molar ratio of aromatic to fatty reactants of less than 4:1 and a molar ratio of short-chain diol to long-chain poly(ether) diol reactants of less than 49:1. These elastomers are useful as hot melt adhesives having excellent properties including resistance to embrittlement at low temperatures.

Fatty segmented polyester elastomers

There is disclosed a polyamide adhesive for bonding fabrics, particularly fusible interliners for fabrics, which are cleanable by laundering and/or dry cleaning. The polyamide adhesive is a terpolyamide of caprolactam and hexamethylene diamine with a mixture of polymeric fat acids and an aliphatic co-dicarboxylic acid having 20-22 carbon atoms.

Polyamide adhesive for bonding fabrics

Amino-poly(imidazoline-amide) compositions are disclosed which are useful for occlusion in polyolefins to render them dyeable with acid textile dyes. Polyolefins are useful in textile fibers or filaments. The compositions are certain azelaic acid, polyamide-imidazoline products of a mixture of diethylene triamine and a diamine. Optionally, fatty compounds such as a dimeric fat acid or monomeric fatty acid or another, different aliphatic dicarboxylic acid may be present.
