Disclosed is an organic phase change carrier and a method for forming same, and a phase change ink including same. The organic phase change carrier comprises a colloidal dispersion of nanoparticles exhibiting a substantially uniform distribution of said nanoparticles discretely distributed therewithin, at least one curable monomer; a phase change inducing component, and an initiator. The organic phase change carrier exhibits a substantially uniform distribution of the nanoparticles so that they are discretely distributed therewithin, and are substantially resistant to the aggregation of the nanoparticles distributed therewithin.

A process or method for forming silane esters that is substantially free of oligomers. The process includes reacting an anhydrous salt of a carboxylic acid with a silane in a two phase reaction system. The silane comprises a halo-alkyl substituent. The two phase reaction system comprises a first solvent and a second solvent, wherein the second solvent is a solvent that is substantially non-miscible in the first solvent. An imaging member produced utilizing the silane esters so formed are also produced herein.

A process for synthesizing arylamine compounds is provided. The process includes producing a dicarboxylic acid salt of an arylamine molecule by reacting a dicarboxylic acid arylamine with an alkyl salt to produce the dicarboxylic acid arylamine salt.

Cross-coupling reactions

4-aminobiphenyl derivative arylamine compounds are formed by providing an iodinated organic compound; substituting the iodinated organic compound at carboxylic acid groups thereof to provide ester protecting groups; conducting an Ullman condensation reaction to convert the product of step (ii) into an arylamine compound; and conducting a Suzuki coupling reaction to add an additional phenyl group to the arylamine compound in the 4-position relative to the nitrogen.

Alkylated urea and triaminotriazine compounds and phase change inks containing same

A polycarbonate generated from the polymerization of a protected hydroxylated bisphenolic compound, a bisphenol, a monophenolic endcapping agent, a bisphenol haloformate, and a curing compound, and thereafter subjecting the obtained polymer to a reaction with an acidic compound. A hydroxylated charge transport compound may also be included in the polycarbonate.

Polycarbonates and photoconductive imaging members

The present invention provides a process for preparing monoiodinated aromatic compounds that are useful as intermediates for preparing charge transporting and hole transporting amino compounds and have high purity with high yield and at low cost. A process for preparing aryl iodide compounds comprises reacting an aryl halide compound with a metal iodide, a metal catalyst and a catalyst coordinating ligand in at least one solvent to form an aryl iodide; and purifying the aryl iodide. A triarylamine compound and a process for preparing a triarylamine compounds reacting the aryl iodide with a diarylamine is also provided. Further, a photoconductive imaging member comprising a charge transport layer that comprises at least one triarylamine compound prepared reacting the aryl iodide with a diarylamine is provided.
