A method for providing negative control power for an electrical supply and/or transmission network by means of the operation of a gas turbine, includes the following steps: a dynamo-electric machine of the gas turbine is supplied with electric power for motor operation from the supply and/or transmission network; the electrical input power is regulated or controlled by the motor operation on the basis of a network signal from the supply and/or transmission network to which the gas turbine is connected; and an operating parameter of the gas turbine for motor operation is altered as a result of this regulation or control for the purpose of deliberately increasing the electrical input power from the supply and/or transmission network.

A method for isolating a plant device of an industrial plant, wherein at least one safety measure is implemented on the plant device in order for work to be done safely on the plant device is provided. Isolation information is communicated to a control and protection system using a data communication unit having a data input that receives data from the plant device. An interface between the data communication unit and a control and protection system of the industrial plant is used to transmit the isolation information from the data communication unit to the control and protection unit. Discussed is a method and device for increasing the operational flexibility of a current-generating system with a turboset, comprising a turbine coupled to an electrical generator, a power set point value being predefined, and a future target time at which the turboset is supposed to be at the power set point value, so that a power curve is determined via the power set point value and the target time, the turboset being operated starting from a actual power value at an actual time along the power curve such that the predefined power set point value is reached at the predefined target time. Also discussed is a gas turbine and to a steam turbine in accordance with the above description.
