A vibrator assembly includes an electric motor, a shaft driven by the motor, and a cylindrical weight coaxially positioned on the shaft free end, wherein the cylindrical weight has a center of gravity that is radially offset from the shaft axis. The cylindrical weight includes a first portion that is lighter in weight than a second portion. When the vibrator assembly is installed within an electronic device, the cylindrical shape of the weight limits the amount of shaft deflection that can occur when the electronic device is dropped or subjected to other impact forces.

A space-efficient card reader for various electronic devices includes a plurality of adjacent, spaced-apart electrical connector pins extending outwardly from a portion of a printed circuit board (PCB) in an electronic device. Each aperture is configured to receive a respective one of the connector pins therethrough when the cover is in a secured position overlying the PCB portion. A portable communication device and an antenna system include a part having a ground plane located within and extending through the part. A hinging section is joined to the part and stretches along an end of the part for providing rotation of the part in relation to another part around an axis and providing a hinge cavity inside the hinging section surrounding the axis. An antenna element is at least partly provided inside the hinge cavity and the ground plane extends from the part into the hinge cavity at a distance from the antenna element.

A communication terminal includes a housing carrying therein a radio antenna element, a speaker, and a chamber that acts as an electromagnetic resonance cavity for the antenna and as an acoustic resonance cavity for the speaker. The terminal includes a user interface on a front side of the housing and the speaker is placed behind the user interface as viewed from the front side, with the sound channel extending from a channel inlet at the speaker to a channel front outlet at the front side.
