A lithium-air battery includes a battery cell and a case configured to accommodate the battery cell. The case includes an inlet communicating with outside and an outlet communicating with outside. At least one of the inlet and the outlet is equipped with a gas separation membrane that includes a matrix including a polymer resin and a metal-organic framework (MOF) dispersed in the matrix. The gas separation membrane has a thickness of 150 μm or more.

Disclosed are an electrolyte membrane for a lithium-air battery, a method of manufacturing the same, a cathode for a lithium-air battery, a method of manufacturing the same, and a lithium-air battery including the electrolyte membrane and the cathode. Particularly, the lithium-air battery includes i) an electrolyte membrane, which is manufactured using an inorganic melt admixture including two or more nitrogen-oxide compounds and thus may have a very low eutectic point, and ii) a cathode, which is manufactured by reducing a metal at a fast speed on a carbon material. Disclosed is a pouch type metal-air battery. In the pouch type metal-air battery, when the electrolyte inside the cell comes out of the electrode assembly by applying external pressure, the electrolyte does not reach the space partitioned by the gas diffusion layer, the electrode assembly and the exterior material, due to the step caused by the projection part of the gas diffusion layer. As such, a plurality of pores in the exterior material, which corresponds to the space, may not be blocked. Therefore, since oxygen selectively permeated from the exterior material flows into the gas diffusion layer, and flows into the electrode assembly through the diffusion portion of the gas diffusion layer, the contact resistance with pressure may improve and the initial driving conditions and driving reproducibility may be secured.

The present disclosure relates to a positive electrode for lithium air batteries, a method of manufacturing the positive electrode, and a lithium air battery including the positive electrode, and more particularly to a positive electrode for lithium air batteries, wherein the positive electrode is manufactured through a dry process instead of a conventional wet process and a mixture of a positive electrode active material and a binder is ball-milled under specific conditions, thereby reducing or preventing a swelling phenomenon due to a solvent and increasing the force of coupling between the positive electrode active material and the binder, whereby it is possible to manufacture a high-density electrode and to improve the durability of the electrode, and wherein the lifespan of a lithium air battery is increased when the positive electrode is applied to the battery.

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a lithium air battery including a nitrogen-doped carbon cathode, more specifically, a method for manufacturing a lithium air battery including a nitrogen-doped carbon cathode that can inhibit side reactions between a carbon cathode and an electrolyte, and thus improve battery stability by doping the carbon cathode with nitrogen by repeatedly conducting initial charge/discharge an appropriate number of times on a lithium air battery containing a first electrolyte with a low viscosity, and is eco-friendly due to using a non-destructive manner as compared to conventional methods, and can inhibit an electrolyte depletion phenomenon and improve battery lifespan by further including a second electrolyte with a high viscosity.

Method for preparing lithium air battery including nitrogen-doped carbon cathode

The present disclosure relates to a lithium air battery and a manufacturing method thereof. A seed layer for inducing the growth of thin-film type discharge products is formed on a carbon positive electrode. The number of reaction regions that can react with lithium ions is increased, whereby high-speed discharging is possible. Since the seed layer induces the growth of the thin-film type discharge products, high-speed charging is also possible. In addition, since the seed layer induces the growth of the thin-film type discharge products, it is possible to increase the capacity of the battery. Furthermore, the occurrence of overvoltage in the lithium air battery is reduced, whereby the lifespan of the battery is increased while the stability of the battery is improved.
