A display device includes a display panel including pixels. A display driver provides a data signal to the display panel. A sensor overlaps the display panel. A sensor driver transmits a driving signal to the sensor and receives sensing signals corresponding to the driving signal from the sensor. The display driver and the sensor driver share a signal line and are connected to a memory through the signal line. The display driver and the sensor driver are interconnected through a flag signal line. The sensor driver outputs a flag signal to the flag signal line to inform the display driver that the sensor driver desires to access the memory.

The display device includes a piezoelectric sensor layer including a piezoelectric sensor; and a display panel disposed on the piezoelectric sensor layer. There is provided a display device including a high-sensitivity touch sensor. A display device includes: pixels arranged in a display region; sensing electrodes arranged in a sensing region; sensing lines coupled to the respective sensing electrodes; a noise detection electrode disposed on the same layer as the sensing electrodes; sensing channels each including a first input terminal coupled to any one of the sensing electrodes and a second input terminal coupled to the noise detection electrode, the sensing channels each generating an output signal corresponding to a voltage difference between the first and second input terminals; and a processor detecting a touch input, using the output signals of the sensing channels.

Display device

A touch sensor for a display device includes: a sensing area having a closed shape and including a plurality of sections, and a non-sensing area at least partially surrounding the sensing area; first touch electrodes disposed in the sensing area; and second touch electrodes disposed in the sensing area. The first touch electrodes include first groups of first sub-touch electrodes, and first sub-touch electrodes of at least some of the first groups are spaced at a first substantially equal distance from a center of the closed shape. The second touch electrodes include second groups of second sub-touch electrodes, and second sub-touch electrodes of at least some of the second groups are spaced at a second substantially equal distance from the center of the closed shape.

A touch sensor includes a base, first sensing electrode columns (FSECs), and second sensing electrode columns (SSECs). The base includes a sensing region (SR) including a rounded corner (RC), and a non-SR outside the SR. The FSECs extend in a direction on the base, each FSEC among the FSECs including first sensing electrodes (FSEs), each FSE among the FSEs including sub-electrodes. The SSECs are alternately disposed with the FSECs on the base, each SSEC among the SSECs including second sensing electrodes (SSEs). A touch sensor includes sensing blocks. Each of the sensing blocks includes first sensing cells of a first group, first sensing cells of a second group, and second sensing cells. The first sensing cells of the first group are arranged in a first direction, spaced apart from each other with first separation areas therebetween, and coupled to an identical first electrical node. The first sensing cells of the second group are arranged in the first direction, spaced apart from each other with second separation areas therebetween, and coupled to an identical second electrical node. The second sensing cells respectively extend in a second direction in the first separation areas and the second separation areas. First sensing cells at borders of respective sensing blocks adjacent in the first direction are coupled to different electrical nodes.

Touch sensor

A touch sensor includes: a sensing area including a first sensing area positioned in a center portion and a second sensing area positioned outwardly therefrom in an edge portion; first sensor electrodes disposed in the first sensing area; and second sensor electrodes disposed in the second sensing area, the second sensor electrodes being configured to be separately activated from the first sensor electrodes. The first sensor electrodes are drivable to detect a touch input generated in the first sensing area in a first mode and the second sensor electrodes are drivable to detect a touch input generated in the second sensing area in a second mode.
