Methods and devices for grouping events in a network are disclosed. The method includes receiving notification of a first event that includes attributes of the first event; determining a score between the first event and a second event; and grouping the first event and the second event into a first group based on the score. The method includes determining a first distance in a first dimension between the first event and the second event and calculating the score based on the first distance. The method further includes displaying the first group on a user interface (UI).

To effectively implement ILM policies and account for unreliability in a geographically distributed large-scale storage system, 'scanners' and 'ILM rules appliers' can be deployed on nodes throughout the storage system for large scale ILM implementation. Each scanner is programmed to deterministically self-assign a region of object namespace and scan that region of object namespace. To &#x201c;scan&#x201d; a region, a scanner accesses metadata of each object that has an identifier within the scanner's region and inserts the object metadata into one of a set of queues for ILM evaluation. An ILM rules applier dequeues object metadata for evaluation against ILM rules and determines whether an ILM task is to be performed for ILM rule compliance.

To leverage the attributes of object storage for applications/systems created to interface with a network files system, an object storage backed file system can accept the defined file system commands from the applications/systems and transform the file system commands into requests that target object storage. The file system is 'backed' by object storage because attributes and content of file system entities are stored in objects. For instance, content data and metadata of a file are stored in objects in object storage. This object storage backed file system can be considered a bridge between a client perceived hierarchical file system namespace and a flat namespace of an object storage.

A method and system for forming filter elements on a plurality of display substrates using a digital imaging system operable to selectively deposit filter material at a plurality of deposition locations is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises transmitting, by a computer comprising at least one processor, (i) an initial encoding of a first image instance of a first spatial tile in a sequence of image frames followed by (ii) an initial encoding of a second image instance of the first spatial tile; transmitting, by the computer, an encoding indicative of a perfect match between pixel values of a first image instance of a second spatial tile in the sequence and the first image instance of the first spatial tile; and transmitting, by the computer, an initial encoding of a second image instance of the second spatial tile based on receiving an indication of an absence of a decoding of the encoding of the first image instance of the first spatial tile.

Method and apparatus for caching image data transmitted over a lossy network

Methods are provided for imaging patterns on a media. The steps of the method include operating a first imaging head with individually addressable channels to direct imaging beams to form a first image on the media while scanning over the media along a scan path. A second imaging head with individually addressable channels is operated, either at the same time or a different time, to direct imaging beams to form a second image on the media while scanning over the media along a second scan path. It is possible that the first scan path may or may not be parallel to the second scan path, and that the first image may or may not be aligned with the second image. The first image may or may not be skewed with respect to the second image.

Imaging a plurality of images using a plurality of non-parallel scan paths

An apparatus () for adjusting the calibration of an imaging system to correct for geometric distortion comprises a rotating drum for receiving recording media (), a plurality of carriages () each having an imaging head () with a plurality of addressable imaging channels, and a controller programmed with a lookup table, analytical relationship or algorithm that relates corrective adjustments to be made to the imaging of a given imaging head based on the positions of others of the imaging heads. A method is described for obtaining the lookup table, analytical relationship or algorithm. The method has particular relevance to large imaging systems.

Adjusting the calibration of an imaging system

A method is provided which includes operating a first multi-channel imaging head to direct imaging beams along a scan path to transfer a first non-contiguous feature and a second non-contiguous feature from a donor element to the receiver element by a thermal transfer process. The first and second non-contiguous features are spatially separated from one another at least in a sub-scan direction. The method also includes operating a second multi-channel imaging head to direct imaging beams to direct imaging beams to transfer a third non-contiguous feature from the donor element to the receiver element by the thermal transfer process. The third non-contiguous feature is between the first and second non-contiguous features and is spatially separated from each of the first and second non-contiguous features at least in the sub-scan direction.

Forming an image with a plurality of imaging heads

A pattern of non-contiguous features that can be imaged in one pass of a multi-channel imaging head is divided into sets of the non-contiguous features. Each set of the non-contiguous features is imaged separately during a single scan of the multi-channel imaging head. The pattern can be completely imaged after all of the sets have been separately imaged. The non-contiguous features of one set may be interleaved with the non-contiguous features of another one of the sets.

An imaging system is equipped with two or more exposure heads that are each able to image either a separate media sheet or a portion of a single media sheet loaded on a media carrier. The imaging time for any combination of media sheets is minimized by providing for the adjustment of the spacing between the dual exposure heads whenever the media configuration changes. In imaging a unitary image using two exposure heads to each image a sub-image, any discontinuity between the end of the first sub-image and the start of the next sub-image is reduced by changing the traversing speed of one of the exposure heads by a fractional amount.
