A method of forming an inorganic oxide coating on a monolith article to produce a coated monolith article suitable for the treatment of an exhaust gas comprises spraying, as a dry particulate aerosol, inorganic particles and a silicone resin to form a coating layer. The present invention also provides an uncalcined porous monolith article for use in forming a monolith article for the treatment of an exhaust gas. The uncalcined monolith article comprises a dry particulate composition comprising inorganic particles and a silicone resin.

The present disclosure is directed to a system comprising a recuperated gas turbine engine with a catalytic combustor, and methods of operating the same, the catalytic combustor comprising: (a) an upstream section comprising an electrical heater and (b) a downstream catalyst section, wherein the upstream section and the downstream catalyst section are disposed adjacent to and in fluid communication with one another.

Catalyst article for use in an emission treatment system

SCR-active molecular-sieve based catalysts with improved low-temperature performance are made by heating a molecular-sieve in a non-oxidizing atmosphere with steam (hydrothermal treatment), or in a reducing atmosphere without steam (thermal treatment), at a temperature in the range of 600-900&#xb0; C. for a time period from 5 minutes to two hours. The resulting SCR-active iron-containing molecular sieves exhibit a selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides with NHor urea at 250&#xb0; C. that is at least 50% greater than if the iron-containing molecular-sieve were calcined at 500&#xb0; C. for two hours without performing the hydrothermal or thermal treatment.

NOadsorber catalyst

A catalytic wall-flow monolith filter for use in an emission treatment system comprises a wall flow substrate having a first and a second face, and first and second pluralities of channels. The first plurality of channels is open at the first face and closed at the second face. The second plurality of channels is open at the second face and closed at the first face. The monolith filter comprises a porous substrate having a first zone extending from the first face towards the second face and a second zone extending from the second face towards the first face. Each of the zones are less that filter length. A first catalytic material is distributed throughout the first zone of the porous substrate, and a second catalytic material covers at least a portion of the surfaces in the second zone of the porous substrate and is not distributed throughout the porous substrate.

Provided is a catalyst washcoat comprising (i) a molecular sieve loaded with about 1 to about 10 weight percent of at least non-aluminum promoter metal (wherein the promoter metal weight percent is based on the weight of the molecular sieve); and (ii) about 1 to about 30 weight percent of a binder having a d90 particle size of less than 10 microns (wherein the binder weight percent is based on the total weight of the washcoat). A NOtrap catalyst is disclosed. The NOtrap catalyst comprises a noble metal, a NOstorage component, a support, and a first ceria-containing material. The first ceria-containing material is pre-aged prior to incorporation into the NOx trap catalyst, and may have a surface area of less than 80 m/g. The invention also includes exhaust systems comprising the NOtrap catalyst, and a method for treating exhaust gas utilizing the NOtrap catalyst.
