In a method of moderating action requests and structured communications using context, responsive to a request interaction, a computer system sets up an action request regarding a structured communication in an observation platform. The action request is a query. The computer system analyzes the query with respect to context in the observation platform. The context is one of user context in the observation platform and device context in the observation platform. The computer system analyzes the query with respect to status in the observation platform. The status is one of user status in the observation platform and device status in the observation platform. The computer system moderates interactions with an external system with respect to the structured communication based on results of the context and status analyses, wherein the external system is external to the observation platform.

Moderating query requests and structured communications using context for communicating with external systems

A method of generating performance metrics for one or more users within an observation platform environment is described. The method includes providing one or more of the users with a communications device capable of sending a user's voice and a secondary signal containing information regarding a location of the communications device; providing an observation platform having a communications system for receiving and sending data. The observation platform comprises a computer system with a memory, and is configured to: recognize a user identity of a user, of the users; capture, from the communication device, a voice message of the user and the secondary signal; derive statistical data about employee performance of the user comprising: primary statistics, secondary statistics, and higher-order statistics from the secondary signal and the voice message; and build context and a contextual history of one of the user and the communications device based on the statistical data.

Context and contextual history within an observation platform environment

In a method of identifying a metric associated with a business, a computer system associated with the business recognizes a first user associated with a first communication device and a second user associated with a second communication device, wherein the first user is recognized as an employee of the business and the second user is recognized as an employee of the business. The computer system observes signals in between the first communication device and the second communication device, wherein at least a portion of the communication is an audible communication. The computer system identifies a metric based on the signals in the communication between the first communication device and the second communication device. The metric is then made available for decision making purposes.

Deriving employee context from structured communication

In a method for managing and distributing content in a plurality of observation platforms, a message is generated at a cloud based component of a content distribution manager in response to user interaction via an interface of the content distribution manager. Responsive to the user interactions and to interactions of third party software via an application program interface with the cloud based component, delivery of the message is scheduled and a plurality of specified devices belonging to a specified class of employees are specified for delivery in a plurality of observation platforms at a designated time and location via the cloud based component. The plurality of observation platforms are located in a plurality of different enterprise locations. The message is delivered to the plurality of observation platforms which relay the message to the plurality of specified devices.

Generating and delivering content in a plurality of observation platforms

An observation platform comprises a first computer system associated with an organization, a first communication device associated with a first user, a second communication device communicatively and a second computer system both communicatively coupled with the first computer system The second computer system receives: via the first computer system and the first communication device, a signal with a characteristic corresponding to an audible source; and from the first computer system, context information at least in part from a speech to text analysis of the characteristic, where the context information represents one or more attributes of the first user and comprises a query about the organization made by the first user. The second computer system compiles a response to the query relative to the organization and responds via the first computer system and the second communication device, to the first communication device regarding the query based on the compiled response.

Observation platform communication relay

In a method of determining and sharing proximity of device users within an environment of an observation platform, the observation platform determines that a first communication device associated with a first user is in the environment of the observation platform. The observation platform detects that the first communication device is in proximity to a second communication device associated with a second user. Responsive to the detection, the observation platform generates proximity information for the first user and the second user. The observation platform relays the proximity information to a second observation platform via a computer network, wherein a second environment of the second observation platform is separate from the environment of the observation platform.

An automation software component is sent from the collaboration application for resident installation at an external collaboration application which is external to an environment of the observation platform. The automation software component organizes information in the external retailer system for exchange, via a cloud-based gateway, with the collaboration application. The collaboration application is communicatively coupled, via the cloud-based gateway, with the external collaboration application. User information and task information are synchronized between the collaboration application and the external collaboration application. At least a portion of the user information received from the external collaboration application is provided by the automation software component.

In a method of managing emergency management information within an observation platform an emergency management and response application is provisioned at an observation platform. The provisioning is administered by a cloud services platform and includes configuration and deployment of the emergency management and response application within the observation platform. In response to receipt at the observation platform of a report of an emergency, operation of the emergency management and response application is triggered within the observation platform. Emergency management information is sent, via the emergency management and response application, to a group of users of the observation platform. The emergency management information includes at least one of an alert related to the emergency and instructions related to the emergency.

Provisioning and operating an application for structured communications for emergency response and external system integration

In a method of identifying a metric associated with a business, a computer system associated with the business, recognizes a first user associated with a first communication device and a second user associated with a second communication device, where the first user is recognized as a customer of the business and the second user is recognized as an employee of the business. The computer system observes a communication between the first communication device and the second communication device, where at least a portion of the communication is an audible communication. The computer system identifies the metric based on the communication between the employee and the customer. The computer system makes the metric available for decision making purposes.

One or more users in an observation platform environment is provided with a communications device capable of sending a user's voice and a secondary signal containing information regarding a location or relative proximity of the communications device. An observation platform is provided and has a communications system for receiving and sending data from and to at least one of the communications devices and a computer system configured to recognize the identity of a user of the users, based on signals from the communications device; capture, from the communications device, the secondary signal and a voice message of the user; derive statistical data about employee performance of the user; store the user identity, voice message, location, and statistical data in an employee performance library associated with the user; and generate at least one performance metric entry for the user, based on the performance information, into the employee performance library.

An observation platform comprises a computer system associated with an organization, a first communication device associated with a first user, a second communication device communicatively coupled with the computer system, and a plurality of additional communication devices associated with different users of a plurality of additional users. The computer system communicates with the first and additional communication devices via the second communication device. The computer system receives, via the second communication device, a signal from the first communication device. A characteristic of the signal corresponds to audible source which is a voice of the first user. The computer system derives context information from a speech to text analysis of the characteristic. The context information comprises a query about the organization. The computer system compiles a response to the query and responds based on the compiled response, via the second communication device, to the first communication device about the query.

In a method of observation platform buy-online-pickup-in-store (BOPIS) integration, a BOPIS application is provisioned at an observation platform. The provisioning is administered by a cloud services platform in collaboration with a computer system of the observation platform and includes configuration and deployment of the BOPIS application within the observation platform. An automation software component is sent from the BOPIS application for resident installation at an external retailer system which is external to an environment of the observation platform. The automation software component organizes information in the external retailer system for exchange, via a cloud-based gateway, with the BOPIS application. A message regarding a BOPIS order populated in the external retailer system is received at the BOPIS application from the external retailer system. The observation platform sends, to a device of a user of the observation platform, a task request to perform a task related to the message.
