A computer system comprises a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to parse a first communication according to a policy to determine metadata, comprising a first set of attributes, associated with the first communication; compare the first set of attributes to attributes of a plurality of communication devices; identify at least one recipient communication device from the plurality of communication devices for the first communication based on the comparison, wherein at least one attribute of the at least one recipient communication device causes the policy to inhibit the at least one communication device from receipt of communications; override the inhibit based on an attribute of the first set of attributes and application of a voting system of the policy; and responsive to the inhibit being overridden, deliver the first communication to the at least one identified recipient communication device.

Communication mediation

A computer mediated communication system includes a plurality of communication devices, a wireless transceiver, a computer system configured to wirelessly communicate with the communication devices via the wireless transceiver and mediate communications among the communication devices. The computer system a memory coupled with a processor. The processor parses, in response to an initiator providing an ambiguous input to the computer mediated communication system requesting a communication interaction, the processor: parses the ambiguous input for information about a desired target of the communication interaction; matches the information about the desired target against maintained target data to select a list of potential targets; computes likelihoods the potential targets of being the desired target; ranks the potential targets based on their respective likelihoods of being the desired target; and disambiguates the ambiguous input by communicatively coupling the initiator with at least one of the potential targets based on the ranking.

Target disambiguation in a computer mediated communication system

In a method of query derivation in an observation platform a signal from a first communication device is received at a second communication device that is associated with a computer system. The computer system is associated with an organization and a first characteristic of the signal corresponds to an audible source. The signal is parsed, by the computer system according to a policy, to determine metadata associated with the signal, wherein the first communication device is operated by a user and wherein the policy dictates rules for use of the metadata. The computer system determines a prior user history of the user. The computer system converts the audible source of the signal to text or machine understandable language. The computer system derives a query related to the organization based on at least one of the prior user history, the metadata, and the text or machine understandable language.

Detecting under-utilized features and providing training, instruction, or technical support in an observation platform

A first communication, received from a first communication device operated by a first user, is parsed according to a policy to determine associated metadata comprising a first set of attributes. The policy dictates rules for use of the metadata. The first set of attributes is compared to attributes of a plurality of communication devices. Based on the comparing, at least one recipient communication device for the first communication is identified from the plurality of communication devices, wherein at least one of the first set of attributes matches at least one of the attributes of the plurality of communication devices. Based on the policy and the metadata, at least one of a feature available to the at least one identified recipient communication device and behavior of the at least one identified recipient communication device as perceived by a particular user associated with the at least one recipient communication device is determined.

In a method of structured communications in an observation platform a signal from a first communication device is received at a second communication device that is associated with a computer system. The computer system is associated with an organization, wherein a first characteristic of the signal corresponds to an audible source and a second characteristic of the signal corresponds to information indicative of a geographic position of the first communication device. The computer system derives a query from the signal, wherein the query is related to the organization. The computer system determines a plurality of persons representing the organization to respond to the query, wherein the determining is based on a factor related to the plurality of persons representing the organization. The signal is forwarded to a plurality of communication devices associated with the plurality of persons representing the organization.
