Booster with prefilling without limitation in flowrate

A pressure-holding valve for a brake system having a body with a blind bore therein. The body has a first passage which connects the blind bore with a variable pressure inlet port and a pressure outlet port. The blind bore is closed by seals carried on a plug having an axial passage therein connecting said inlet port with a second passage connected to the first passage. A non-return valve is located in said blind bore between the plug and the bottom of the blind bore while a valve controlled by an electromagnet is locate in the plug. In response to an operational signal the valve controlled by the electromagnet is moved into engagement with a seat to interrupt communication between the inlet port and the first passage. If the pressure holding valve is on an incline plane, the non-return valve moves to close the axial passage to prevent the return of pressurised fluid from the outlet port toward the inlet port and thereby maintain the fluid pressure in the system at a value of the fluid pressure at the outlet port to sustain a brake application.

The pneumatic brake booster comprises a housing formed from a front and a rear half-shell 12 and 10, a piston structure dividing the housing internally into two chambers and composed of an assembly consisting of a plate 18 and of a diaphragm 20 and possessing centrally a hub structure 24 containing a distribution valve mechanism 26 actuatable by an input member 56 in order to generate a pressure difference selectively between the chambers. The valve mechanism 26 comprises a plunger 28 mounted axially slideably in a coaxial central bore 30 of the valve body and connected to the input member 56, the plunger defining a first shutter seat 32 at one of its ends, a second shutter seat 34 being formed in the valve body concentrically relative to the first shutter seat and a shutter means 36 mounted in the valve body and stressed elastically toward the first and second shutter seats, at least one elastic means 60 stressing the input member 56 axially away from the shutter seats. The hub structure 24 and the valve mechanism 26 are arranged inside the housing.

The invention relates to a brake servomotor assembly (1) consisting of a front half-shell (6) and a rear half-shell (8) and mounted on a stationary part (4, 40) of a vehicle by means of lugs (54, 56, 154) arranged in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the servomotor and around this axis, extending radially outwards and cooperating with bearing surfaces (34, 36, 134) with corresponding shapes and dimensions for mounting by mechanism of axial engagement followed by rotation, an elastic means (25, 125) being arranged between the servomotor (1) and the stationary part (4,40), the servomotor (1) having a central hub (24) on the rear half-shell (8) comprising a control valve mechanism (26) of the servomotor (1). The lugs (154) or the bearing surfaces (34, 36) are formed as a single piece with the central hub (24) and cooperate respectively with the bearing surfaces (134) or the lugs (54, 56) formed on the stationary part (4, 40) of the vehicle.

A rigid partition (18) internally delimiting a front space and a rear space in the outer casing (10) of a brake servo unit is fastened on an approximately cylindrical extension (14a) of a reinforcing plate (14) internally lining the front portion of the casing. A two-stage servo unit of simplified construction and of small dimensions, utilizable in the brake circuit of motor vehicles, is thus obtained.

The assembly is composed of a vacuum pneumatic booster (1), a master cylinder (3) and a reservoir (5) of fluid under low pressure which feeds the master cylinder, and is intended to convert a force exerted on a control pedal into a fluid pressure supplying at least one fluid motor. The booster (1) has at least one chamber connected to a vacuum source via a non-return valve (30). This chamber is connected to the source via a duct (21) formed in the master cylinder (3), the non-return valve (30) being arranged at the outlet of the duct (21). The non-return valve (30) is arranged at the end of a pipe (25), the other end of which is connected in a sealed manner to the duct (21), the non-return valve (30) and the pipe (25) being incorporated into the reservoir (5).

The invention relates to a brake with at least one stationary disc (10) and one axially movable disc (33). The movable disc (33) is mounted on hangers (17), themselves each fixed to a cylindrical column (16) parallel to the axis of the wheel. This column can move axially on bearings (15) carried by an extension (8) of the hub. This extension is in the form of a fork, with two teeth set apart axially and located on either side of the plate (2) forming the body of the hub. Seals (22) make it possible to maintain a reserve of grease in the region of the bearings (15).

Multiple disc brake

Multiple disc brake comprising a first rotary disc fixed to a hub connected to a rotating member to be braked and at least one second rotary disc capable of sliding axially relative to the hub and to the first disc, while at the same time being made integral in terms of rotation with the first disc. The connection between the second disc (2) and the hub (3) is made by way of at least two axially sliding shoes (22) which are uniformly distributed over a circle and which are each accommodated in an axial receptacle (23) of a cross-section matching that of the shoe (22). The invention is used on a multiple disc brake for motor vehicles.

The invention concerns a disc brake with a caliper (10) sliding on a fixed support (12) incorporating a first friction component (14) which is capable of being applied against a surface of a brake disc by way of a brake actuator through a plunger (28). A second friction component is capable of being applied against the other surface of the disc through the sliding caliper. Rotation of the plunger (28) is capable of causing the latter to move axially relative to the brake actuator. The disc brake incorporates an adjusting and retaining component (44) having a fork (40) at one of its ends (42) which is intended to cooperate with complementary surfaces (38) formed on the plunger (28) and having a hole (48) at its other end (46) by way of which the component (44) is immobilized, through a screw (50), relative to the first friction component (14). The adjusting and retaining component (44) enables the rotation of the plunger (28) to be immobilized when the screw (50) is tightened and, when the latter is unscrewed, the component (44) is used as a spanner to tighten or slacken the plunger (28).

Disc brake

The braking system incorporates at least one brake disc disc (26 36) mounted so as to slide axially on a hub (22) along key mechanisms (30, 32). According to the invention the braking system incorporates an integral device for forced greasing (60) of the key mechanisms (30, 32) formed by two sealed chambers with variable volumes joined to one another by way of the key mechanisms (30, 32).

The disc brake incorporates a sliding caliper (18) straddling a rotating disc, the caliper incorporating a first portion (24) sliding on a fixed support (10) by way of at least one axial pillar (20) and incorporating a second portion (28) of the caliper astride the disc. The second portion (28) is hinged to the first portion (24) along an axis of articulation (D) parallel to the plane of the disc and situated radially nearer to the axis of rotation (B) of the disc than the line of action (C--C) of the brake actuator, an abutment (56-58) is positioned between the first (24) and the second (28) portions and lies in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the disc and parallel to the axis of articulation (D).

The invention relates to a multi-disc brake comprising a stationary rotary disc (1) and a moveable rotary disc (2) which is mounted on a splined sleeve (5) sliding on a splined part (3a) of a hub (3) of axis (4) and with which the disc (1) is solid. An assembly of friction pads (6 to 9) can interact with the discs (1,2) under the action of a hydraulic jack (13). The splines (23,25) of the hub and of the sleeve are protected from dirt by deformable diaphragms (20,26) which are turned in on themselves and which are arranged so as to be shielded from the thermal radiation emitted by the braking members (1,2,6 to 9).
