Embodiments of the present disclosure provide arrangements for aggregating network traffic of compute nodes of various computing sleds of computing trays of a computing rack assembly in a data center. In one embodiment, a computing rack assembly may include a plurality of computing trays. A computing tray may removably include a number of sleds. Each sled may include a number of compute nodes. The computing tray may further include an optical network aggregation component to aggregate network traffic of the compute nodes of various sleds of a computing tray. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

A visual communication system that is suitable for use in connection with a display surface is disclosed. The system includes a camera or other data-capturing device that can be remotely positioned from the display surface. A control unit receives image data from the camera or data-capturing device and processes the image data to create an electronic image of the display surface.

An optical-scanning system including a laser, a multi-faceted, rotational scanning mirror, and system-monitoring laser safety structure operatively and informationally connected respectively to the laser and to the mirror and the drive motor for the mirror for altering the effective power output of the laser in response to current operational status of the system as determined by current operational status of the rotating mirror. The safety structure enforces on the laser a duty cycle of operation which is less than 100-percent, causes the laser to power down to a low 'sleep' operating level at times other than during a normal scanning sweep, de-powers the laser entirely if either the drive motor for the mirror is not enabled or the rotational speed of the mirror is below full normal operating speed, and also positively de-powers the laser when a user shuts down the system.

Described herein is a novel optical toy of the kaleidoscope type. The article is comprised of a cylindrical tube having a mirrored inner surface. This tube contains a transparent sphere which is gravitationally rollable through the interior of the tube. The sphere is retained within the tube by means of a ring positioned about each end of the tube. The ring has an inner diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the sphere thereby preventing the sphere from passing from the tube. Positioned on the outer end of the tube is a prism or other suitable article useful in refracting light. This may be spaced a short distance from the outer end of the tube by means of a clear tubular attachment and it breaks up white light into its various components and reflects the different color light into the tube where it is reflected off the mirrored inner surface and passes through the transparent sphere producing various eye-pleasing color designs on the mirrored inner surface.
