A testing device and method may be implemented for improved detection of leaks in batteries used in portable electronic devices. The leak testing device may use two high voltage electrodes to detect ionized air leaks. The first high voltage electrode may be configured as a test voltage, and the second high voltage electrode may be configured as a reference voltage. The first high voltage electrode and the second high voltage electrode may be configured as current limitation resistors. The leak testing device may include a processor that measures the first high voltage electrode and the second high voltage electrode. The leak testing device may include a display that is configured to display a difference between readings of the first high voltage electrode and the second high voltage electrode.

Battery leak test device and methods

A testing device and method may be implemented for improved detection of leaks in batteries used in portable electronic devices. The leak testing device may include a chamber configured to hold a device under test. The chamber may include a conductive foam, a conductive liquid, or any suitable conductive material. The chamber may be configured to hold the device under test in a substantially airtight environment and prevent or reduce air ionization under high voltage. The device under test may be a battery that has a conductive outer layer.

A testing device and method for improved detecting of fluid leaks considered important, for example, fluid leaks that would be external to a component or machine are disclosed. The testing device includes a conventional infinite fluid pressure supply source which supplies equal fluid pressure to a reference volume zone, a critical zone and an internal zone, the critical zone and internal zone may be positioned inside of a device being tested.
