The invention relates to a tire, the aspect ratio H/S of which is strictly greater than 0.55, having a radial carcass reinforcement comprising a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown layers of inextensible reinforcement elements, crossed from one ply to the other forming angles of between 10&#xb0; and 45&#xb0; with the circumferential direction, which itself is topped radially by a tread, said tread being joined to two beads by means of two sidewalls and the crown reinforcement comprising at least one layer of circumferential reinforcement elements. According to the invention, the ratio of the thickness of the crown block at one shoulder end to the thickness of the crown block in the circumferential median plane is less than 1.20 and the ratio of the axial width of at least one layer of circumferential reinforcement elements to the axial width of the tread is greater than 0.5 and preferably greater than 0.6.

Tire for heavy vehicles

A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement includes a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown layers of inextensible reinforcement elements, which are crossed from one ply to the other, forming with the circumferential direction angles of between 10&#xb0; and 45&#xb0;. The crown reinforcement is topped radially by a tread, which is joined to two beads by means of two sidewalls. The ratio of the thickness of the crown block at one shoulder end to the thickness of the crown block in the circumferential median plane is less than 1.20. The ratio of the axial width of the tread to the maximum axial width of the tire is strictly greater than or equal to 0.89.

Heavy vehicle tire

The invention relates to a tire having a radial carcass reinforcement comprising a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown layers of inextensible reinforcement elements, which are crossed from one layer to the other, forming with the circumferential direction angles of between 10&#xb0; and 45&#xb0;, which itself is topped radially by a tread, said tread being joined to two beads by means of two sidewalls and the crown reinforcement comprising at least one layer of circumferential reinforcement elements of an axial width less than that of at least one of the working crown layers. According to the invention, the ratio of the axial width of at least one layer of circumferential reinforcement elements to the axial width of the tread is greater than 0.6, and preferably greater than 0.65, and the ratio of the axial width of the tread to the maximum axial width of the tire is strictly greater than 0.89.

A tire having a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown plies ( ) having axial widths L , L greater than the width L of an additional reinforcement ( ) of inextensible, substantially radial reinforcement elements, which reinforcement is arranged radially between said plies ( ) and is axially composed of three parts, a central part ( &prime;) in the form of a ply formed of inextensible, substantially radial reinforcement elements and two lateral parts in the form of strips ( &Prime;), each formed of circumferential reinforcement elements, the modulus of elasticity upon traction per unit of width of a lateral strip being at most equal to the modulus of elasticity upon traction, measured under the same conditions, of the most extensible working ply.

Crown reinforcement for a radial tire

A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, a crown reinforcement including at least two working crown plies of inextensible reinforcement elements, crossed from one ply to the other ply, forming angles of between 10&deg; and 45&deg; with the circumferential direction, and an additional, axially continuous, ply formed of continuous, inextensible and substantially radial metallic reinforcement elements made of steel, the additional ply being placed radially between the working plies, and having an axial width which is at least 1.1 times the axial width of the widest working crown ply.

Tire with crown reinforcement including radial ply

A tire with a radial carcass reinforcement of maximum axial width S , including a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown plies of inextensible reinforcement elements, crossed from one ply to the other, forming angles of between 10&deg; and 45&deg; with the circumferential direction, the plies having axial widths greater than the width of an additional ply of inextensible, substantially radial, metallic reinforcement elements. The additional ply is arranged radially between the working plies, the working plies being, on either side of the equatorial plane and in the immediate axial extension of the additional ply, coupled over an axial distance at least equal to 3.5% of the width S , then being decoupled by profiled members of rubber mix at least over the remainder of the width common to the two working plies.

Radial tire with crown reinforcement including radial ply

A tire with radial carcass reinforcement having a maximum axial width S and including a crown reinforcement composed of at least two working crown plies of inextensible reinforcing elements, crossing from one ply to the next at angles of between 10&deg; and 45&deg; to the circumferential direction, the said plies having axial widths equal to at least 80% of the width S , and arranged radially between the said working plies, an additional ply of reinforcing elements essentially parallel to the circumferential direction, the working plies having widths greater than the width of the additional ply by at least 16% of the width S , and being on both sides of the equatorial plane and in the immediate axial extension of the additional ply coupled over an axial distance equal to at least 3% of the width S , thereafter being separated by a section of rubber mix having a thickness of at least 2 mm.

Crown reinforcement for heavy duty tires

A tire, the H/S form ratio of which is at most 0.6, formed radially from the inside to the outside by a triangulation ply of metal cables oriented at least 60&deg;, two working crown plies formed of inextensible metal cables oriented at angles of between 10&deg; and 45&deg;, between which there is inserted a first additional ply of metallic elements which are oriented substantially parallel to the circumferential direction of the tire, a second additional ply being arranged, on either side of the tire, radially above the outermost working ply and substantially centered on the end of the first additional ply.
