Process for the catalytic dewaxing of a hydrocarbon oil feed including waxy molecules and more than 500 ppmw of sulphur or sulphur containing compounds by contacting the oil feed under catalytic dewaxing conditions with a catalyst composition comprising at least a hydrogenation component, dealuminated aluminosilicate zeolite crystallites and a low acidity refractory oxide binder material which is essentially free of alumina.

Catalytic dewaxing process

Catalyst comprising from 0.1 to 15% by weight of a noble metal selected from one or more of platinum, palladium, and iridium, from 2 to 40% by weight of manganese and/or rhenium supported on an acidic carrier, these weight percentages indicating the amount of metal based on the total weight of carrier. Use of this catalyst in a process wherein a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising aromatic compounds is contacted with the catalyst at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrogen. Process for the preparation of this catalyst, which process comprises incorporating the catalytically active metals into the carrier followed by drying and calcining.

Process wherein a hydrocarbon feedstock is contacted with a catalyst

A hydrocarbon distillate fraction is hydrotreated in a single stage by passing the distillate fraction downwardly over a stacked bed of two hydrotreating catalysts. The catalyst in the upper bed contains 0.1 to 15% by weight of platinum and/or palladium and also contains 2 to 40% by weight of at least one of tungsten, chromium, a Group VIIB metal, and an actinium series metal supported on an acidic refractory oxide carrier. The catalyst in the lower bed contains 1 to 15% by weight of a non-noble Group VIII metal and 1 to 25% by weight of a Group VIB metal on an amorphous, refractory oxide carrier. The liquid hydrocarbon product recovered has a reduced content of aromatics and a reduced heteroatom content.

Single stage, stacked bed hydrotreating process utilizing a noble metal

A process for the preparation of a lubricating base oil including contacting a hydrocarbon feed with a catalyst in the presence of hydrogen, which catalyst includes a hydrogenation component supported on an amorphous silica-alumina carrier having a macroporosity in the range of from 5% vol to 50% vol. The hydrocarbon feed is most preferably a slack wax or a synthetic wax. The preferred catalyst for use in the process includes a combination of one or more of the metals cobalt, iron, and nickel, and one or more of the metals chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten on an amorphous silica-alumina carrier having a macroporosity in the range of from 5% vol to 50% vol.

Process for the preparation of lubricating base oils

Process for the production of hydrocarbons from synthesis gas in which the gas is contacted at elevated pressure and temperature over a catalyst comprising thorium oxide and zinc oxide promoted with at least one alkali metal compound. Preferably the alkali metal compound is potassium oxide. A major part of the product consists of C.sub.5.sup.+ -hydrocarbons.

Process for the production of hydrocarbons

Process for the production of hydrocarbons from synthesis gas in which the gas is passed at elevated pressure and temperature over a catalyst consisting of zirconium oxide promoted with at least one alkali metal compound. Preferably the zirconium oxide has a specific surface area in the range from 20 to 500 m.sup.2 /g and the alkali metal compound is potassium oxide. A major part of the product consists of butene.

Catalytic process for the production of hydrocarbons from syngas

A process for the preparation of a hydrocarbon mixture from a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, using a catalyst combination containing one or more metal components with catalytic activity for the conversion of an H.sub.2 /CO mixture into acyclic hydrocarbons, e.g., Ru, Co, Fe, Ni and Cr, and as carrier a laminar compound capable of absorbing metal ions or metal salts by intercalation. Preferably the laminar compound is a laminar crystalline silicate, e.g., magadiite.
